PS3 Joysticks - do they work on PC?

Post by benstylus »

I noticed that many of the PS3 joysticks are USB

example: http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/HP3-01.html

So I'm wondering whether they work on PC as well... (which would essentially be giving me two sticks for the price and storage space of one).

Anyone have any experience with this?

You're going to need the right driver to make it work.

This one is supposed to work for the PS3 controller, although I personally don't have any experience with it:

I can confirm that this works with the regular sixaxis controller.

My Sega Virtua Stick High Grade works great on Windows XP and I didn't need to install any driver for it.

I installed the driver for the PS3 controller but MAME does not recognize it.

So what use has it got on a PC?

Use Joy2key to map the controller to your keyboard.

mame isn't the only reason to have a pc joystick, you know.

The usb Saturn pc pad also works on the ps3, but not with ps2 games because you need to press the ps-button to register a controller in ps2 emulation mode
So just for ps1 and ps3 games

Geez, well that went well. The program closes before it opens and the guide in .PDF format confuses the absolute fuck out of me. Not to mention the PS3 controller has stopped working for now reason at all.

Why do you have to be a geek to get things working on PC's?
