Just watch the vid, as trying to describe this one, I can't find the right words:

There are some interesting shmup concepts tied with the game, such as learning boss patterns and where safe spots are. I also like the risk factor of staying very close to the boss to do more damage.

Hit detection is pretty bad and one hit kills.
