I loved the first game but heard the second wasn't nearly as good.

One of these days I'll have to play it anyway and decide for myself :(

sadly, that is the truth. the first stands as the clear winner of the "Best MediEvil Game" award. oh the first boss (i think, its in the church) will live on in my memories forever. :D

i really want to try it in Bleem, but never cared enough about the graphical upgrade to deal with the problems.

I, too, made the mistake of buying Bleem.
It SHOULD run pretty damn well in either ePSXe (most popular), PSXeven (my favorite), or PCSX (most portable), if you feel like spending a little bit of time setting up a few plugins here and there.

For some straight up vanilla graphics, drop in P.E.Op.S. GPU plugin, dishing up a healthy dose of awesome software rendering love (excellent accuracy).

that's the thing. i don't use emulators (nor do i have a working computer to use them on :)).

anyway, i still haven't bought a copy of the game. my mom's boyfriend used to play the game because it was one he could understand how to play (he's cuban and also quite old, and by that i mean 50) and i just played his copy. i remember vividly teaching him the controls and having to play through a few of the scenes for him (that church boss included :D). Half-life's control depth left him dumbfounded, he wouldn't even try after i ran through training to give him an idea how to play.
