R-Type Final Dogtags

Post by dnbiola »

I apologize if this is really old news, but I couldn't find a thread on it. NCSX has had R-Type Final dog tags for sale for $9.90 each since March (this includes free Media Mail shipping). They come individually and you don't know which one you're getting.

http://www.shopncsx.com/r-typefinaldogtag.aspx

If you like R-Type Final, why would you not get one? :D

I ordered mine today.

Just sharin' the love...

Actually, most people here seem to hate it. Admittedly it's marred by long stretches with little going on, but that doesn't mean it's awful. Personally, I don't think it's as bad as it's made out to be around here; it's simply not the be-all end-all R-Type.

Well, i don't have any grudges against R-Type Final, it seems fine for me in every aspect, even slow speed didn't bother me

Only 30 models were produced? I'd love to know which ships were left out.

I'm looking for Final dogtags, but I must admit that Northern Lights isn't especially exciting...

Yeah, that's why I added the caveat. But I figure there have to be a few people here who like the game. :)

I agree... if you like R-type I don't see why you wouldn't play it. I see the same hate on Gradius 5 here also.

Yet retarded amounts of love on Trizeal and THE.....
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Theres a lot of fun to be had with the game... it's just very disapointing when compared to the rest in the series.
The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]

Its the glacial pacing i'm not keen on. Makes the original Darius look quick.

lol, wut?

Look at the Top 25 list. For every GV hater around here, there's gotta be a dozen of lovers. Or at least a lover who puts all of his voting strength into it every year. o_o

As for my thoughts on R-Type Final... the first level's got to be the most sleep-inducing level on a shmup. Ever.
But I still like it... well, a bit.

Glutton for mystery capsules, I got three:
R-9A4 [Wave Master]
R-9B [Strider]
R-13B [Charon]

I'd post photos, but I'm lazy :P Anyone want to trade? :) Looking for R-9WF but not really expecting much, considering [chances 30:101], though I'd take R-9W, R-90(2), RX-10, R-13A, TX-T, or OF-1 if they're available. Maybe I'll order a couple more if they still have a bunch after a couple weeks.

Edit: Okay, I found pics of all of them, no Sweet Memories :( Cerberus, Albatross, and Daedalus FTW, tho :D

List if you can't read them, which is hard for me:
R-9A [Arrow-Head]
R-9A2 [Delta]
R-9A3 [Lady Love]
R-9A4 [Wave Master]
R-9B [Strider]
R-9B3 [Sleipnir]
R-9C [War-Head]
R-9D [Shooting Star]
R-9DH [Grace Note]
R-9DH3 [Concertmaster]
R-9DP2 [Asanogawa]
R-9DV2 [Northern Lights]
R-9E [Midnight Eye]
R-9ER2 [Unchained Silence]
R-9F [Andromalius]
R-9Leo2 [Leo II]
R-9W [Wiseman]
R-9WZ [Disaster Report]
R-902 [Ragnarok II]
RX-10 [Albatross]
R-11A [Future World]
R-11S2 [No Chaser]
R-13A [Cerberus]
R-13B [Charon]
TP-2 [POW Armor]
TP-3 [Mr. Heli]
TL-T [Chiron]
TW-1 [Duckbill]
TW-2 [Kiwi Berry] <--WHAT
OF-1 [Daedalus]

I do like the Image Fight ship...I could go for a OF-1 tag and even pay a bit for one.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Okay, I fail at Dogtag Roulette. Four more: Wave Master [again], Lady Love, Northern Lights, and Concertmaster. I give up. Charon looks like the closest I'll have to one of the three I actually want :(

Dogtags cheap, anyone?

Oh, I should note that I sold all mine, if anyone asks. :o

EDIT: That is, the ones I mentioned above are gone, I do have four more, but it looks like I'll have to keep 'em :?

There's one on eBay now, but the seller is too dense or too eager to provoke curiosity bids to say which ship it is, despite the "SEE PIC ! IT IS WHAT YOU GET" and clearly opened case :x

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0366628991

If I bid on it and it's Lady Love or Strider again, I'll hate it, but if it's Cerberus, Albatross, or Daedalus, I'll hate myself :? Crap.

Why would they know which ship is which? Ask them if they won't line up the pics and let you choose one.

Because the name of each ship is right underneath the ship itself, with the callsign at the top:

[sorry, don't have a clearer copy offhand]

I even asked, "What is the name of the on the other side of the tag?" but have not gotten a response yet. My luck, the seller's not saying 'cause it's Kiwi Berry :x and it can't be a sealed one, 'cause why show "This is what you get!" and not the photo of the bag?

if anyone wins this , i'm curious to hear what it was .

i wasn't able to bid on it because the seller blocked me after i asked what ship it was . i'm guessing it's something exceptionally crappy .
