process on burning PS2 games?

okay, i have a pretty serious question, and i figured i'd ask the pros. i know sometime since 2005, somebody asked this question, but i'm lazy enough not to filter through the bajillion topics [sorry guys, lol], but here goes.

i got a hold of about 15+ shmups at my disposal, and more on the way via torrents.

i've watched countless videos on how to manually 'mod' my PStwo [flip top], and i know how to block the three sensors.

the problem is, i'm working on a tight budget [which is why i downloaded torrents in the first place. sorry for not supporting Cave financially ], and thus, i'd like to know the best process on how to burn the actual ISO files onto disc and play them. if there's a way to bypass using Swap Magic ['cause i hear it's wallet draining], i'd like to know.

also, i'd want to know if imported games [like Cave] make a differance in having my PStwo read them. if not, that makes my life that much easier.

any information, whether links or first hand experience, is greatly appreciated.

edit: not just ISO files, but MDS and MDF files..whatever they are u_u;
