Engage to Jabberwock WAVs

Post by Mischief Maker »

So I have the freeware version of Engage to Jabberwock (that lacks wav files for the background music) and a sound card that does terrible midi. I have a couple wav files of music that I think would be great in the game, but have no idea what to name them and where to put them.

Could someone with a complete copy please tell me what the names of the .wav files are and what folder they're located in?

Thanks!

The .wav files should be placed in the same folder as the jabberwock executable. The naming convention is the same as for the MIDI files except with the file extension changed (bgm0.wav through bgm3.wav). Don't forget to enter the Config screen to change the BGM Device setting to Wav.

if im not mistaken (i dont have the full game installed right now), the music didnt come in WAV format but in OGG format... so, in case the wav files dont work, you know why it happened.

iirc, after Gundemonium PD started to format everything in .ogg instead of .wav. A bit odd for a (if I remember) once retail game.

I really should play this game. Bullet hell Dicing Knight sounds like fun.

An aside, but all the doujin guys should use ogg instead of wav, but honestly I think they're banking on larger file size -> greater perception of legitimacy (i.e, closer file size to commercial games). Most of the freeware projects have much smaller file sizes, which mostly comes down to just compressing the damn music.

It's like how people assume that the FAQ on gamefaqs with the biggest file size is the one they should look at first, even though that's stupid (if you're going to use a dumb heuristic, might as well make it "most recently updated").
