TENKOMORI SHOOTING Video question / HELP

Post by caligvla »

I have a pac-man 25th Anniversary namco cabinet with a wells garner monitor & standard JAMMA harness. Can I run Tenkomori Shooting in my cabinet? Tenkomori is a Namco System 12 PCB.

thanks!

Just wondering if it will support my standard resolution monitor...
I though the game was VGA, 480x640, or is VGA support optional?

It's 15Khz CGA. There is no VGA support. It has some interlace options though.

The 411 on Namco's 1998 Tenkomori Shooting PCB...

Both the Japanese and USA region versions of Tenkomori Shooting/Tenkomori Variety Shooting PCBs will work on 15 kHz standard arcade RGB monitor setup...

There is a JVS interface to the side of the Jamma interface as well on a Tenkomori PCB but it works off of the Jamma output...

You can even shoot the staff end credits for bonus points...free points to add to your overall score. It helps to have an external auto-fire hack PCB setup to get those free extra points IMO...^_~

The rare American region Tenkomori Variety Shooting cabinet with official USA marquee has made a few appearances at the California Extreme shows in the past. It was a no-show at the 2007 CAX show though...

Just place an WTB Tenkomori PCB ad in the Trading Section of Shmups.org and see what developes...

Fair warning, it's generally easier to score a JPN region Tenkomori PCB than it is to score such a USA region Tenkomori PCB...why is that? Because Namco really didn't produce that many JPN region Tenkomori PCBs to begin with. And thus it will be even harder to score such a USA region Tenkomori Variety Shooting PCB as even fewer of those were made to begin with. Good luck with your search on getting one... ^_~

Or you could head on down to G-Front's website -- their last update dated 5/8/2008 has a listing for a Namco Tenkomori Shooting PCB. It could be long gone...ask them if they still have it in stock or not. ^_~
