In the Hunt (Sega Saturn Port)
I'm always wondering if the Sega Saturn is this bad because it has massive slowdowns compared to the PSX Version. Now my question is. Had the PCB Version also Slowdowns and were they intended like in Gradius? Does the Sega Saturn Version has better animation than the PSX Version or is it simple the worser port than PSX?

well MAME isn't a proof that the pcb version hasen't got any either. Metal Slug 2 runs also without slowdowns on MAME.Ruldra wrote:I've played In the Hunt plenty of times on MAME, and apart from rare occasions, there are NO slowdowns on the arcade version.
Seriously, you're much better off playing it on MAME.

It runs smoother in Mame because you can overclock it. But of course Mame sucks for other reasons.
The PCB has just as much slowdown as the Saturn version. PS version is a little bit better.
Another reason the Saturn version sucks is because there were a number of misprints, that never got recalled, so if you're unlucky your game won't even work at all.

I have the PCB, both PSX releases, and the Saturn release. As it's been said- played in mame the game doesn't have much (any) slow down- but the PCB is ROUGH with the slowdown. The PCB has just as much slowdown as the Saturn version. PS version is a little bit better.
The PSX version has a 'speed up' code- easily the best version of the game out there due to that alone

I challenge everyone to list a game on any arcade/ home console system (except pc offcourse) that has more slowdown.Battlesmurf wrote:Memory is telling me the Saturn one is easily the slowest of the bunch- but perhaps that's just me.
Played heavily offcourse, fire shots constantly, use bombs, get power ups, etc..
I'm curious
