Greetings, people of shmups.com.
This is my first post here, although I have been lurking around these forums for quite some time now.
I have just come back from Japan with a Sigma Raijin supergun and a Ketsui PCB, both bought at GFront.
I opened the beast and switched the power supply to 220V (I live in France).
Problem is that when it is plugged to the power, the metallic carcass is charged with electricity. It itches when touched. It kinda stops when the supergun is switched on, though.
Could it be because it wants to use the ground of my TV, which is also not grounded?
It's a bit scary, it seems the raijin wants to kill me.
Otherwise, it works fine and Ketsui is great.
Did anyone else encounter the same issue? I'd love to have it fixed, it is really annoying.
Thanks in advance,
VxD

That problem reminds me of one time when I attended the CAX '98 show and there was this early 1940's or 1950's pinball table. Upon touching the metallic flipper buttons, it gave me a mild shock the longer I continued to play with it... ^_~
I don't have a Sigma Raijin myself but I'm sure you'll get the necessary help in a jif... ^_~

Incorrectly wired outlets usually do seem fine, until they cause a chassis to zap you. That's why I suggested checking it.VxD wrote:The outlet seems fine to me,
This makes it sound like it could be a short inside the supergun...Strangely enough, the more I use the supergun, the less the phenomenon arises. Perhaps it will magically solve itself after a while. It is quite frustrating, though.
