Humanoid character in BWR+?

i was watching some replays on youtube of Blue Wish Resurrection Plus and i saw one where the character was a person with a little disc type thing underneath. was this in earlier versions or something or am i going crazy?

Select Eden's Edge (last ship) with B button.
