I was wondering if there's any difference in the quality of VGA adapters for the Dreamcast?
I see a bunch of different types, but I'm not sure if one is better than the other.
best vga adapter for the DC
Since the DC outputs VGA natively, you won't see any different in the quality of the picture between different adapters...they all look the same. But you will find difference in the quality of construction and features. Some have terrible sound, some have dual stereo outs with volume control, and one even has a VGA passthrough.
I recommend the Gameware Madness or Blaze DC VGA adapter (they are both technical the same design but different marketing). It comes with dual stereo headphone jacks with volume control which I find crucial. They are hard to find now though. You could probably buy any cheap one, and hack a volume circuit yourself if you don't mind the added work.

The 411 on the Official Sega DC VGA Adapter...
Some fellow shmuppers are scouring the Net for the ever elusive Official Sega Dreamcast VGA Box Adapter that was sold by Sega themselves. Back in early 2000, it was possible to buy the official DC VGA adapter for a mere 6,000 yen in Akihabara district of Tokyo...nowdays, it goes a pretty yen or penny. Good luck on finding one... ^_~
