A few things you shmup elites probably know

Hello to all... :lol:


Is Death Smiles going to get ported to the home consoles. 8)

Will the ps3 ever get a shmup out from all of it's psx, ps2 and psp franchises? :twisted:

How much longer do we have to wait for the Ketsui port? :cry:

Most important of all what is the most played shmup (if there is one)
arcade or console. :lol:

Bah, I'd been wondering the Ketsui question myself.


It'd be nice to get a definitive date..... but not yet, no, that'd make things too easy, lol......


Hopefully they'll announce something about it sometime soon though.

I remember seeing multiple segafans pop up as new members (segafan,segafan1,segafan2.) Maybe they just had trouble signing up.

Well, here i thought i was the only one to come up with segafan. :lol:

I must add i'd really like to see a new GRADIUS , SALAMANDER , THUNDERFORCE, GUWANGE 2 and DARIUS.

ONE LAST THING : when are we going to see a world wide release of STAR SOLDIER R and 1943 HIGH RES? :P

May 12th is the date for Star Soldier R, as for 1943 HD I don't care enough to find the date. No need in getting hyped for that.

Well no major (or any at all :?) franchise can be called Playstation's own.
Not that it didn't have it's (so far) exclusives, it's just that all the rights are owned by 3 party companies. Sony themselves never had much interest in this 2d niche genre, and pretty much supported 3d only (well almost) for it's PS platforms.

If you mean "at the moment", I'd probably say Ikaruga (you know: "the puzzler") ;)

All time: a safe bet would be "Galaga", but it would be my bet.

Nothing is definite, especially at this point, but Ross Erikson (the man who brought Ikaruga and Triggerheart to XBLA) is going to be trying to get shmups onto the PSN once Sierra and Activision are done with the merger nonsense and get settled in.

But yeah, very much a maybe kind of thing at this point. Just be happy in the knowledge that there's a guy out there who's on our side -_^

I have NO clue. There are a few PSN games, like Everyday Shooter. Depends on if Sony can get its act together.
