Lunatik for Playstation / PC / Saturn

Post by sh13ld »

My first post, yay!

I recently read some old Playstation magazines from 1997 and I noticed a shmup called Lunatik. The game was presented in E3 in 1997. It was published by Eidos Interactive and developed by Pure.

I tried to google it but found virtually no information. IGN says that the game was published to Playstation and PC in 1998.

Does anyone know what happened to this game? Was it really published? Better yet, does anyone own this game? All I've seen is a few screenshots from these magazines. It actually looks pretty decent.

Heh, another Finn ;) Welcome.

Curious thing, that Lunatik. I did spot few (loose) copies of it on eBay, so I guess if somebody's feeling adventurous enough they could easily grab one and see what it's like.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I found a small presskit from finnish Mikrobitti -magazine's download section with 17 screenshots and a short press info which stated that the game was being released for Saturn as well. I will add the press info and screenshots to my site at http://www.kilpelainen.info later today.

My curiosity was peeked because I had never heard of this one.

All I can say is... 3D graphics from the 90s do not age well. :?

Reminds me of an uglier Armada on Dreamcast.

Bumping an old thread.

I received a message from one of the game's developers. He confirmed that the game was not released on Playstation or Saturn.

Check http://www.kilpelainen.info/ for the whole message.
