Shmupping on TV with PSP 2
I have been playing a lot of Xexex on my PSP Sal collection. I'll always keep my fat for emulators but am tempted to get a PSP slim for the TV out function. How decent would Xexex look in 480p on a plasma? Would like to hear impressions from anyone who has and what shmups in particular that you've tried with the TV out.

The answer to that question is "not particularly." I set it up after you asked, and the results are predictably unattractrive. Taking a 240p game, upscaling it to 480p whilst shrinking it down to a portable screen, then blowing it right back up for the big screen doesn't make Xexex very happy. I tested this on an LCD rather than Plasma, but I doubt it would make much difference overall.Dylan1CC wrote:How decent would Xexex look in 480p on a plasma?
Still, I guess that's the only way you're ever going to get Xexex on your TV screen without PCB/emulation.

Aw crap, I forgot Xexex was on the Salamander Collection, now I regret selling it, kind of. But I guess that just goes to show how rarely I played all the crap I had.
That's a real bummer that the PSP S&L only outputs 480p. I know that the PSP testing kits and development kits can output VGA and either one or both of S-video and composite.
