Much earlier today, I started to download the TF IV superplay. I adjusted the maximum upload rate to 91 KB/s. Now the download is going painfully slow-it's at 76.0% and says it will take over another 4 hours to complete! And when I am on the download screen, it won't allow me to abort the dowload, adjust any of the settings, etc-I can't even click the "help" tab!
What should I do; I'd really like to see this superplay/
Ok, I stopped the download, went back to Icarus's site, and started it again. It was going VERY fast-but now it's stuck at 76.0% again! The only difference is that the download screen isn't frozen anymore.
The 'very fast' transition to 76 percent was probably just the torrent checking your old data and not downloading anything new...unfortunately Skyline is probably correct and there aren't any more seeders.
You can maybe watch the partially downloaded file if you close your BT client
*sighs* This is totally ridiculous; the Torrent site was set up so that people could download and watch ENTIRE superplay videos; the incomplete video won't open. If it's gonna run like this, then what's the point of even having the site up?!
^ People gotta turn off their PC's, Dave. Seeders don't want to pay more for the electric bill like everyone else, and I bet there isn't a whole lot of seeders. It isn't Icarus' fault at all that you can't download the "ENTIRE" video. It's just the way bittorrent works.
"Sooo, what was it that you consider a 'good salary' for a man to make?"
"They should at least make 100K to have a good life"
...
Also, some ISPs will charge you for exceeding certain bandwidth on your high speed connection. Stupid, yeah. For example, if I ever upload 2 GB of data in one day, Cox will send me a notice saying I'm exceeding my allowed bandwidth.
Not like I ever do. But I was really surprised when they claimed I had sent 30 GB of data in 15 days. Funny because the entire contents of my HDD didn't exceed 8 GB back then. It was an error on their part, of course.

outgoing traffic is measured by the amount of data that is sent to each adress, so you can have a 1gb file sent to 30 people to get 30gb of overall traffic.
You will need to get a lot more patient if you want to use Bittorrent, Dave. I´ve been in the process of downloading the Battle Bakraid video for 2 weeks now. Private internet accounts usually have a lot less upload bandwidth than they have download bandwidth (in a ratio of roughly 1/8), and the result is Bittorrent download speeds are usually much slower than when downloading from an FTP server.
Yeah, I know. It's just that in order to get the data transfer that Cox was claiming I had exceeded, I would have needed to dump the entire contents of my HDD back then at least three times in one day. The rep on the phone couldn't find a note on my account regarding that, so he told me to just ignore it.
