I missed out on their xb360 pad (bought a real xb360 controller, to my dismay the pad^H^H^Hhat switch is absolutely miserable!) so I'm still looking for a good controller to use on the PC. I know hori has a pretty good reputation so I thought i'd ask around and see if anyone's tried this one out. This seems to have a usb receiver...is that for the PC? Do I need a special driver?
(edit... oh, and the biggest question of all... How is the d-pad? )
Here's what I use, it has one of the finest D-Pads I've ever seen, even when you take this thing apart its design is superb.
Now if you preffer wireless they also have this
I could live without the analog sticks, but unfortunately they don't make them that way, however they are amazing, and the mode button alternates between hat switch or just digital directions. It also has rumble although I don't use it. It is a bit heavier than the non rumble no analog pad given that it has little hadware, but still is most defenately one of the nicest pads you'll ever get your hands on.
That's a surprise! I have a Logitech Dual Action and its d-pad is pretty bad--I always seem to be going diagonally when I want to go straight. It looks quite different from these though.
I'd given up on logitech for pads but for $10 it doesn't seem like such a bad investment.

I think you'll be happy with the result, make sure you get that particular one though. I notice that the pad you posted has a slightly different pad which I haven't tried yet, so good luck!
Sorry but logitech precision gamepad failed for me, i bought it, it was detected fine but for fuck's sake buttons didn't work, tried ANYTHING and it didn't work
Update: I picked up a Precision. The d-pad is actually quite decent. Feels considerably more precise than, say, the 360's d-pad, and an order of magnitude better than the Dual Action. And the buttons are working just fine for me...so far.
For $10 I'd say it was a good investment even if it were to break in a few months' time. Thanks for the advice
