My first Supergun has arrived...

Post by gcjae1 »

Evening everyone,

In the self introduction thread I said that I was waiting for my Supergun to arrive. Well it did, today :D

I only have one board at the moment (Espgaluda 2) but the gun itself is fantastic especially for somone new to arcade PCB's like.

For anyone thinking of buying a Supergun I can thoroughly recommend this site...

http://www.arcadeathome.de/

Andy, the guy who runs the site is very friendly and updated me regularly on the progress of the build. He even posted a video on Youtube of it running a Cave shooter as that was the main reason I was buying it.

Congrats!, just got mine, and playing Radiant Silvergun and Raystorm ATM, also i had to modify my cutom built cabinet to "child proof" my PCB's. I would have blown my money on a Cave kit but i cant tate yet. There are so many vert shmups i want right now but cant. Have fun!

I have also just acquired (for for free :) ) a third tate-able RGB compatible TV.

I didn't really have to blow a lot of money on the Espgaluda 2 kit as I bought it from a guy in the UK so the shipping was low and I didn't have to pay any import duty.

I will probably not be buying any more PCBs/kits this side of Christmas unless an unbelievable bargain pops up...

Asshole. :? Hehe... nice one. Funny how the same one would cost hundreds in the US. Damn 50kg TVs.

Expect to see you in the Galuda II HS thread.

Hi GP, how's it going?

The DDP poster is now framed and taking pride of place on the main wall of my games room. One of the nicest things I own, thanks again.

The TV's aren't actually that heavy. I've got 2 19" (Sony) and a 21" (Panasonic, or Matsushita in Japan). If you are ever in the UK GP, drop me an email and I'll hook you up with one.

I am a long way from being in the high score thread for Espgaluda 2. The Sanwa stick on my Supergun needs a lot of use :D before it will give me the same level of control of control that my HRAP gives me on PS2. I am closer to being on the Mushi Arrange high score table I think (311 million).

What is required, exactly, to tate with a supergun? Will the supergun automatically tate, so you just put your tv on its side? Do different superguns work differently?

Yip.

In fact it is not possible to play tate PCBs any other way. (Although with a lot of the older ones you can choose if you want to flip to the right or the left. Flipping to the left has now become the standard though.)

For the unlikely case that I will ever have enough money to get into PCBs, I am glad to see I have a manufacturer in my own country :)

There's many superguns being made in Germany, the one in the link above isn't the only one by a long shot. ^^

Also: Bavaria is not your country! :P

I have to have a 25" or higher monitor (preferably 28"). When I was in Hawaii I was looking to import a multi-system from the UK. There are shops that deal w/ them, but AFAIK, they are export models, and don't have RGB scart. Getting someone to ship a big ass TV is not that easy.

I'm all set here though, although there's not much of a choice.
