Thoughts/opinions on Glory Days 2 for the Nintendo DS?

I vaguely remember some discussion regarding this games GBA prequel Super Army War when it was released quite some time ago. Hori shmups with strategy elements and a strong Choplifter vibe apparently. I have read some fairly positive things about the new DS game and wondered if anyone here has had a crack at it. Impressions please!
