eproms for jp Black Heart

I've got a Black Heart pcb in the mail this week, unfortunately it's the western version, which is quite a bit different than the jp version (different enemy/item placement, jp has no shield/autofire).
I'd much rather have the japanese version, anybody got any idea how I can achieve this? Is it be possible to just switch the roms?
