I never knew the original Gradius was ported to mobile phones as well, then again I never knew Konami of America even had a hold onto Gradius and Gradius Neo.....

Which isn't a bad thing by the way, since I was dying to get this on my phone, but knowing I can't because back then, it was in Japan only.

Looks cool, but man, cellphone games blow.

I'd rather just keep an SP in my back pocket or back pack and a copy of Galaxies in there.

I wouldn't bother

The games look nice(especially Gradius Neo) but they play like shiat.

On one hand you have the awful cellphone controls and the game itself has wonky collision detection. As a bonus all of the really small things like enemy bullets are hard to see and thus easy to run into.

I've actually had this on my cellphone for a while. It's a surprisingly good port (given the extreme limitations of the platform) but cellphones are just such a lousy platform for such things.

Erm, Series 60 phones are quite powerful. Easily as powerful as a GBC. I've writen some shooters for them which are quite nice. The biggest problem si the way that phones dont have a 8way -Dpad. Although the newer phones also have these.

The gameplay on these phones might be questionable, but I'd like to play Graddy NEO just for the new option formations. Especially the Frontal and Attack types. And the lightning type is just strange.

Shame Konami doesn't put NEO and Imperial on a GBA, DS, or PSP compilation, along with some of the older cellphone versions.

Most cell phone games are monthly fee based. I only bought Ms. Pac-Man cuz it was a one time fee of $5.99, rather than 1.99 or 2.99 per month.

mmm... that gives me second thoughts. I would rather be able to keep that phone even long after i quit using it as a collector's item and still have Gradius on there.

Gradius was a one-time fee game for my cellphone. It depends on carrier, most likely. The phone I have is a Samsung VGA1000 on Sprint PCS, and is ridiculously slow (think 3 FPS, if the programmers are good) for games.
