http://media.gba.gamespy.com/media/708/ ... mgs_1.html Check out the screens! It looks like the GBA versions of Goemon 1 and 2 will have the Gradius and Xexex levels just like the SNES ones!

I've heard of Goeman but haven't heard much. Are these collections of mini-games? I assume this won't see a release here in the States.

No, they aren't collections of mini games. It's a collection of the first two SNES Goemon games, two of the better games in the series. The first game in the collection came out in the US as Legend of the Mystical Ninja. The first SNES Goemon is an action adventure game with RPG elements and platform stages. The second SNES Goemon is a platform game with RPG elements and exploration in the towns. Both games have a ton of mini games. The first SNES Goemon has an arcade with the first level of Gradius and the second Goemon has an arcade with the second level of Xexex. As you can tell from the screens I linked to (which are in GBA resloution), the shmup levels are making it to the GBA ports!

You can read more about the games here. http://www.classicgaming.com/reviews/goemon/goemon.htm

BTW, it's not Goeman, it's Goemon. I highly recommend getting the first SNES game, one of the N64 games, or importing one of the games. Many of the Goemon games are very sweet. The second GB Goemon (released in the US as Mystical Ninja starring Goemon) is a disappointment, though. I have the NES Ganbare Goemon as a Famicom Mini. It's more simplistic than the newer ones, but it's a ton of fun to play, IMO. I love it!

The Goemon series is one of my favorite series of platforming games.

Hopefully it'll come stateside...

I hope so, but I'm thinking of importing just in case it doesn't. It's more expensive than most US GBA games, but the price listed at import sites is cheaper than most other new Japanese GBA games. I hope the ports turn out good. The screens and that fact that the shmup levels from classic Konami games are still there certainly are promising, though.
