Never have I been more dismayed, horrified, enraged, and confused, all at the same time.

I ended up crediting feeding Gokujo Parodius tonight, I felt like seeing the rest of the game, getting past the damned pastry level. It was tough, I didn't know the levels, I had to switch characters a few times, but things were going fine.

And there I was, some sort of Neon "Girls Girls Girls" level, when she arrived. My most refiled of all sworn enemies. The Giant Vegas Lady. The sole reason I cannot enjoy Parodius Da! The horror, the horror! Here she was again, in a game I thought I could enjoy, and she was twice as big and hellbent on squishing me with her shiny, shiny shoes.

And so began an epic struggle few will soon forget. The profanity spewed from my mouth with no end in sight. I even screamed to the evens "WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS?!" many, many times. I hate the Giant Vegas Lady with all my soul, and there was no turning back, I had to face her, I had to take that skanky-ass gigantic bitch down. Or at least not get crushed into itty-bitty pieces.

A half hour later, and the end seemed in sight, I could almost taste victory, when it dawned on me that this was not the boss, another monster laid in wait, prepared to make me miss the Giant Vegas Lady. Several credits, and several bouts of screaming that have left me hoarse, later, and then, a fucking octopus who doesn't fire. I tasted my first taste of super-wussy-ass Konami final boss, and dammit, I'm pissed. I need more closure after the Great Battle of The Super Giant Vegas Lady, something more than an octopus and a bomb that goes boom and kills everyone.

Yeah, I hate how the Parodius and Gradius games exit on such a sour note.

I hate the vegas lady in Da!. In Gokujyo I felt she was worlds more manageable though...

If I'm not misinterpreting what you're saying, it is truly bizarre to get completely challenged by a Konami shmup, only to be totally let down by some piece-of-crap, pansy final boss.

It's almost like there was a "Konami Creed":

We'll shatter your spirit......but then crumble like an autumn leaf at the end....
