About
The Shooting Game Tournament 2007 is a friendly score competition among users of shmups.com. The score validation works like in the hiscore threads. So you just play the game on PCB, emulator or any console port and post your score which you don't need to prove. (However if you are a troll or have a questionable reputation, be prepared to be asked for snapshots or other verifications.)

Shooting Game Tournament 2006
Starting Date: Monday, 20th August 2007
Playing Week #1: Konami Week (20th August - 26th August)
Playing Week #2: Seibu Kaihatsu Week (3rd September - 9th September)
Playing Week #3: '06 2nd Place Week (17th September - 23rd September)
Playing Week #4: Hidden Gem Week (1st October - 7th October)
Playing Week #5: Famous Manic Week (15th Ocotober - 21st October)
There will be one week break after each Playing Week.
Rules
Players and their Teams
To handle all the joining players, they will be divided into teams. Every team consists of a minimum of 5 players to a maximum of 7 players. Each week every team member can play, but only the best 3 scores of a team will count for the overall rankings. (a ranking independent highscoretable will be displayed as well) So bigger teamsizes are esspecially good in cases where a player skips a game because he don't own / can't emulate it or is just busy with real life. So in a team consisting of 5 players, even if 2 players skip a game the team can still get it's full 3 ranking slots and don't lose on points.
Team Captains *NEW*
Every team will have a captain. Preferably the team mates agree for their team captain by themselves. Otherwise a team vote may be enforced to choose the team captain. The captain himself will simply be in charge of organizing and keeping an eye on his team. Remindind players who didn't play yet, or to encourage strategy talk between team members. So don't try to be the captain because it sounds so cool (this isn't school), but rather because you are dependable and would like to invest time and effort to hold your team together.
Game Selection
Each Playing Week will have a certain theme, for example a company, subgenre, game series, system, release date. Five potentially interesting and probably easy to access games for this theme will be put into a pool. Now roughly 2 days before this playing week starts a special voting thread will be created. And the game which gets the most votes will be played.
How can I join? Just hit the quote button on the 2nd post os this thread and fill the form out. And don't worry if you are completely new, everyone who wants to play can join.
What decides what team I am on? You may either join one of the existing teams, create your own team. Or just fill out the entry form without specifying a team and get randomly invited into one team or put into a team set up by regionals.
