Raiden Fighters 2 score-saving

Post by SephirothFF »

Just a quick question on RF2 scoring. Am I right in thinking that the high scores resets each time the machine is turned off? It says today's high scores and has another screen for master ships with best scores for each ship.

In my RF1 board the high score does not reset. Anyone else experiencing this?

You probably just need a new battery.

todays scores reset, the alltime highs dont.. if they do you need a new battery.
the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..

Moved to Hardware, edited thread title for accuracy.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Thanks but is that the masters of ships section? I can only find all time highs for the ships that are selectable and I don't have any of the extra planes unlocked yet

yeah, you'll never unlock any new ships either unless you get a new battery.

But the all time highs do save and the reason I have no new ships is because I just got this game. I think the battery is ok...anyway even if I wanted to change it it's stuck onto the metal clasp so tight I can't pry it out

Also does anyone know how I can unlock the remaining ships? Do I just have to play the game a certain amount of time?

The battery is lazer welded to the clamp...the whole thing has to be de-soldered & a CR2032 battery clamp installed...real straight forward to do...then its just a case of sliding the new battery under the new clamp.

Hold on....today's scores reset each time the machine is turned off but what about the high score that is displayed at the top of the screen while you are playing - should that reset as well?

This appears to be the same on Raiden Fighters JET.

In that case why is it that only Raiden Fighters 1 does not reset the scores when the machine is turned off?
