This is confirmed, Saturday July 21st
1:30 - 10:30 ish

Potential shmuppers:
szycag (that's me!)
stuminator (his place!)
oxtsu (from oklahoma city and providing the good stuff!)
gunbird18 (a tad bit closer!)
Damocles (not confirmed... anyone heard of Horton KS?)

Oxtsu will be providing a few Cave PCBs, such as Mushi Futari (!) and Ketsui (!!!)... and we'll have plenty of console stuff to go around too.

If you need directions PM one of us!

Yeah, looks like June 8 is kinda early... This will probably be a few weeks further down the road. Hopefully we'll have a few more people this way. Anyone want to suggest a date?

I can do June 23, but only until about 6:30 or so. I am completely open any other time that weekend.

hmm. Well, it would be a 5 hour drive for me, so perhaps another day.
I'm open most any Fri/Sat. So I take it you would be the one hosting, stuminator?

I can bring some games (and setup). Let me know what interests from here.

I already have the Egret 2. Just waiting on a working board so that I know this expensive piece of metal and fiberglass works!

I will look into July 21st and let you guys know.

It looks like this thing is migrating to Oxtsu's place, in Oklahoma City. Still on the 21st I think... So is anyone closer to that area? :)

Unfortunately I need to stay in KC on the 21st because of work. It will be mid-September before I have a weekend that I don't work and don't already have plans. :(

Talked with Stuminator and he's still willing to host in KC on the 21st: people can stay over, however, he has to be up and around to work very early that next morning (like 3:45 am early) so he thought that would likely be a problem for the other two of you. Guess this depends how big of earlybirds you guys are... I imagine Gunbird might be able to manage the 2 hour or so trip that Saturday night though, don't know how you feel about night driving so that's totally cool if you're not up to it... but Oxtsu's trip would be twice that so he would need to stay in KC that night.

Sorry about the speculative nature of all this lately, it's hard organizing these things, I just want to find something we're all happy with!

I could probably be in since I live about 1 1/2 hours away and my gf lives down on the Plaza.

...not that I have anything worthwhile to contribute...

Oh, don't worry oxtsu, Futari and Ketsui are enough to make me drive 90 mph on I-70! Looks like a great line-up! Can't wait any longer!

Kansas City, huh? Would there be space for a relative neophyte, a mewling babe, unschooled in the ways of shmup mastery? That is to say, would there be room for another person

I've never played a real arcade machine before (the arcade in Manhattan was pulled a while ago, and I had never gone there; my shmup fixation is relatively new). I'd probably gain as much out of it just from watching as playing  So, any chance you could count me in as a potential?

Well, I don't want to speak for the stuminator, but I'm sure it would be okay, although it sounds like the venue is going to be a bit small. What do you say, stu? I'm sure I am going to do a lot of watching as well. I like to study people's skillz and see if I can accomplish the same thing. Usually ends in disappointment!

I've talked to Aleanil a bit already, six is probably the absolute maximum that can fit at his place... I will ask him today

I think we can do six people but not more. I'll probably move some furniture out of the main room to get a little more space for everyone. I really want to get a townhome, this would hopefully be a lot more space for the next meet.

I think aleanil is pretty much confirmed now. And he's bringing an R-Type pcb? :)

Everybody bring money for pizza, I think we're getting some Godfather's for lunch.

Remember if you need help finding out how to get here, ask stuminator... there's some construction around here so double check with him if the roads are open.
