I've been using ULaunchELF on PS2 and the way it can switch between interlaced and de-interlaced video makes me wonder if the PS2 could be made to do the same thing with games that should be low-res de-interlaced but are not, like nearly all shoot 'em ups except the early Cave games.
Does anybody have enough PS2 programming knowledge to tell if it would be possible to patch the ISO of a game to make it low-res, or to use an Action Replay code maybe?
Low-res de-interlaced switching on PS2?

This has been debated a few times, and nobody really seems to know. Packages like the recent Sega Ages 2500 games show that it is at least programmable to do on the fly (filtering and interlacing) but actually hacking an ISO... sounds a bit more complex.
Probably better to ask at Assembler or something.
