School district: Sixth graders had sex in class

Indianapolis - For months it's been a well-kept secret. But now Warren Township Schools confirm a disturbing case of sex in the classroom. The illicit activity has parents concerned and a district at a loss for words.

Shop class gives students a chance to learn outside of the book. But at Warren Township's Raymond Park Middle School, two students engaged in illicit acts in view of goggled eyes.

13 Investigates was tipped off by a disturbed resident who writes:

"...during school hours in a classroom with an experienced teacher present, two sixth graders completed the act of intercourse...at least ten students were witnesses. No disciplinary actions were taken against the teacher... All teachers were told to keep quiet."

Middle school students having sex in a busy classroom while a teacher is present? Warren Township Associate Superintendent Jeff Swensson confirmed it's true. It's been kept under wraps since November.

The principal at Raymond Park Middle School would not speak to us about the incident or parents concerns. The superintendent in charge of middle schools in the district also backed out of an on-camera interview and instead provided a three-sentence statement:

"Two students were involved in inappropriate conduct in a lab class last semester. We have investigated the matter and taken appropriate action. The school corporation considers the matter closed and will have no further comment."

Associate Superintendent Jeff Swensson told Eyewitness News off camera the teacher didn't know what was going on because another student acted as a "look-out." But once the teacher discovered the behavior, immediate action was taken. Swensson says the students involved were recommended for expulsion. But he did not say whether the board followed that recommendation.

Warren Township School Police were not aware of the incident and say no report was made even though the children were recommended for expulsion.

We sought comment from all seven Warren Township School Board Members about how this case was handled. No one was available to speak with us.

I think that cramming sex education down their throats in elementary school gives them too much knowledge too fast. Let them be freakin kids. I think people are so worried about teaching sex that they don't realize young kids don't always do what you want them to.

Kids are different nowadays. A 14 year old cousin of a friend of mine was in a 14 year old girl's house one afternoon with all his mates. One girl and several 14yr old boys.
Anyway, one of them asks "shall we do it?" - The girl replies "Oh ok, just look out for my parents".
She then gang bangs all the boys.

Like it was nothing.

I guess I was living under a rock for the past 5 years. A friend recently informed me of all these girls I used to know, banging all these guys now-a-days. I thought a lot of girls saved sex for marriage.. but yikes..

Well, there's a difference between gang-banging and love. And as much as I'd like to get behind saying 'make love not war'; having to teach the kids of these kids has made me think perhaps war is just what they need.

Ultimatley I agree with Ktownhero, a little discipline at the right time might have solved this problem.

What your body doesn't teach you is that you could get STDs, get pregnant/get a woman pregnant, or cause emotional fallout after the fact.

CMoon, if you give a rat's ass about your students, you WILL have that class. Because unless they learn that there could be a negative outcome from just fucking whoever, whenever they feel like it... they're going to go ahead and do it!

As for this story, don't take it as if though this is happening in every school across the world. This could happen to 10 people in the world, and NOT happen to the other 5,999,999,990. News people scrimp and scrape for stories like this all the time, and they're damn well going to report it when it happens.

It's not as if teens haven't been having sex very much before this point. Go ask your parents about teen sex in their time and I'm sure you'll hear about some pretty similar things that go on nowadays.

Except for the middle school part.

I don't know how the hell they pulled that one off but that kid must have had some balls to try that.

It doesn't justify anything but it illustrates the point that it's nothing new. Just better documented now.

Well in a way it is. Parents should be telling kids about sex not flaky first year teachers. They don't tell them not to do it at a young age and there is the problem. Highschool is a different matter, but young middleschool kids really should be told not to have sex. Playing with condoms just gives them a sense of curiosity. A 12 year old really has no business learning how to use condoms. When they are old enough the can be presented with their options. Their parents should also have had a strong voice prior.

Dude, when I was in middle school we had two different chicks who got pregnant. Maybe someone should have told them (or the guys who fucked them) about condoms.

Also when I was in 6th grade I was the hornist little fuck in the world. It wasnt the sex ed or the condoms in the health room that made me curious, it was the raging boner I had 23 hours a day. Man, that was embarrassing.
