I forgot to mention this in my earlier post but yes, both my Ketsui & ESP.ra.de Replay DVD-Rs are presented in true "Tate" screen mode for your enjoyment. No need for "safe TV mode" with ugly vertical black bars to the left & right like that found in the Psyvariar2: The Will to Fabricate Special Capture DVD.

I don't get it. So are these these the real Cave replays that they never released? Or are these DVD-R's of the replays on Icarus' bit torrent??

Hey there Dave_K.,

The Ketsui & ESP.ra.de Superplay DVD-Rs aren't the "official" ones from Cave/Arika themselves nor are they ripped from Icarus' bit torrent either.

I personally video cammed myself playing both shmup PCBs (using my Supergun setup with two monitors: one a regular 27" TV & the other, an RGB monitor) a mini DV cam and ripped it to DVD-Rs myself. I'm sorry for the confusion that this caused...really then I should say that it's really "PC Engine Fan X!'s DVD-R replays of both Ketsui & ESP.ra.de" then.

Okay, here's a heads up for the shmuppers who posted a interest in the Ketsui and/or ESPrade DVD-Rs. Due to copyright laws, it is allowed that one can make a DVD/VHS tape recording for his/her own use but NOT to sell or give away even for free.

So that means regarding the "official" Ketsui Superplay DVD from Cave/Arika will be the only LEGAL method of obtaining legitimate DVD of the Ketsui "one credit-clear" video if it ever comes out at all. Here's to hoping that it does come out. The "official" Ketsui DVD hasn't surfaced yet so could be awhile or even perhaps never be released at all. It's all up to the head honchos at Cave and Arika to straigten out the mess they got themselves in producing this "official" Ketsui DVD and whether or not to release it to the Japanese/International gaming market.

Cave owns all the rights to the Cave games it has produced in their entirety whether it be pictures, graphics, artwork, music, etc. that comprise of any medium: arcade PCB, console game port, music CD, Superplay DVD, etc.

What I have in my posession is a personal DVD-R copy of myself playing Ketsui & ESPrade and will be left at strictly that. So all the shmuppers who expressed interest in my personal DVD-R of Ketsui & ESPrade will be cancelled. That is the way the copyright law works. End of discussion.

Well, if you managed to do a DV recording -> DVD, is it possible for you to do a DV -> XviD/DivX and let us see it? Last I checked replay video files for download (created through personal filming rather than a DVD rip or something else) weren't illegal.
