Is it possible to play Arcade CD-Rom2 'Sapphire' on PSP?

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

This question is concerning the PCE Arcade CD-Rom2 game title of "Ginga Fukei Densetu Sapphire":

On a PSP with firmware 1.50 and using the Hue v.070 emulator (which can run those cool PCE CD-Rom2 & Super CD-Rom2 games), can one play such Arcade CD-Rom2 game titles using such emulator (of course, with using Arcade System Card Bios)?

It would be a real treat if such Hue v.070 emu can run such Arcade CD-Rom2 software on the PSP... ^_~

Of course, nothing compares to playing with real PCE software on the PCE/TG-16/Turbo Duo hardware..... ^_~

Here's a link to the Hue v.070 emu for PSP:

Question: How do I play PC Engine CD-Rom2 or Super CD-Rom based games on the PSP?

Answer: One must copy the ISOs and the MP3s of the particular PCE CD-based game zip to the PSP's memory card along with a TOC file. One then can load the "Super CD-Rom2 System v3.0 (J).pce" rom (that's included with this Hue v.070 emu) and load the CD game. MP3s must be at 44,000kHz - 128Kbps stereo format. (Hint: Google for how to convert your mp3s to the appropiate bitrate...)

1.) Create a text file for your ISO+MP3 PCE CD image.

2.) Go to http://necstasy.emunova.net/ to find the table of contents (TOC) for your image.

3.) Cut and paste 'TOC' into the text file.

4.) Save the file as "game-name".toc (i.e. GateOfThunder.TOC)

5.) Place your game files with the TOC file into a folder on your PSP's memory card.

6.) Load & boot up Hue v.070 emu on your PSP.

7.) Load the Super CD-Rom2 System Rom.

8.) Load the TOC file from your PCE CD Game folder.

9.) Enjoy! ^_~
