Night Raid
Psyvariar : Medium Unit
Psyvariar : Revision
Ray Crisis
Shikigami No Shiro / Castle Of Gods
XII-STAG

not sure if there are any others....any of these good? I have the bold ones coming in the mail with a mobo.

Psyvariar and Psyvariar revision are great
(I prefer how psyvariar plays, but it seems a little 'unfinished', while revision seems more polished but plays a bit easier I thought).
Shikigami is also great.

The rest are give and take I think:
Raycrisis: great but definitely unique (with the encroachment element) and I like it, but...sometimes makes you fight the same boss twice...bad.
XII Stag: fantastic on the later levels where the rediculous play mechanic is no longer important. Early levels lame.
Night Raid: Fantastic game until is gets a little TOO manic a few levels in and turns into a spaz-fest (instead of a nice dodge-fest).

shikigami 1 is the best in the series imo and the reason to get the system.

all th eothers are ok but nothing really amazing.
the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..

Taito G-Card of Psyvariar Revision is cool for Superplays...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

For TheRed,

I'd pick up the Taito G-Card version of Psyvariar Revision as it has the ability to save individual Superplays of each respective stage (provided that they are 1'CCed & are the highest scoring in the chosen stage) directly to the G-Card itself. Of course, one can delete them...but why would you want to? ^_~

Also, the Taito G-Net mobo supports both mono sound output + true stereo sound output provided that you have a proper stereo cable harness. The BGM tunes of Psy-R G-Card are cool to listen to, especially when piped through a decent pair of stereo speakers. (I have a pair of 100w Sony bookshelf speakers rated @ 8 ohms hooked up to my Taito G-Net mobo -- awesome shit indeed! -- The G-Net mobo can handle that particular speaker setup without overheating -- no sweat!) ^_~

Oh man, I was just looking at coinopexpress' site, some of the G-Net kits are so cheap! Like $141 for a motherboard + Psyvariar revision?

Minimum order of $200, but they have Shikigami no shiro G-Net card for $60 or so only, so the Psy R & Shiki would do it. Wow!

I've only played the PS2 versions of Shiki, XII Stag, and Psyvariar Revision.

I played Psyvariar Medium Unit very briefly, and while it's good, the buzz system doesn't seem as compelling as Revision which I found more fun to play and is a bit more similar to Psyvariar 2.

Call me weird, but I like the first Shikigami no shiro more than II (and I haven't tried III yet). I also like XII Stag a lot, more than Trizeal.

There are not very many games for G-Net as you may have noticed, and none of the shooters will be terribly expensive, so hey, if you buy one and don't like it, I might like to buy ;)
