Shmup terminology

Hi,

Does anyone know of a site or post that contains explanations of shmup teminology? e.g. caravan/carnival modes, buzz, etc. If not... this thread can become one, feel free to post

Heh heh, some time back I implored the forum to help me compile a semi-comprehensive list of shmup terminology, and we managed to get it a good way over 100 entries before it died down...this effort was not the forum's first, but it was, to the best of my knowledge, the most successful and the first one to be "officially" compiled in any way. I still have the thing saved, but I don't know if many would want to be bothered with me posting the whole thing again. There WERE still a couple of terms that I'd have liked verified though...if people want it back on here, I'd be more than happy to repost it, but otherwise I was eventually planning on putting it someplace else sometime down the line.

In the meantime, I know that the French site www.shmup.com (no second "s") has a small section covering shmup terms...obviously it's in French, but if you're interested you could try running it through a translator or something like that.

Hmm, maybe I'll repost it, and see if people are willing to help me "finish" it. If no one bothers it'll either just be pruned or deleted like any other topic, so it's not like there's a lot to lose here, heh. I'll see if I can find it and toss the thing back up in the next few days.
