Help with Arcade Cabinet Marquee

Post by Belmont »

Recently i started work on my very own arcade cabinet that im building from scratch :) Its bassically a modified computer inside a self build cab that will run mame. Im building it mainly for shmups and wanted to put some shooter artwork into the marquee. http://www.mamemarquees.com/marquees-c- ... c0408bdfe0

If i can get a good marquee with shooter artwork in the background and the mame logo in the front it would be AWSOME. The only problem is that my graphic design skills are sub par. Basically i cant use anything thats not paint haha. So i was wondering if anyone from this forum wanted to contribute to my cab by helping me with my marquee. I would love to see what you guys can come up with.

There's an entire sub-forum devoted to artwork at www.arcadecontrols.com

Honestly, I never have understood the appeal of putting a Mame logo anywhere on an arcade machine. It just seems...tacky...to me. Personally I would find a cab, or cab artwork that appeals to me visually, and stick with that. Hell, I'd even prefer a generic cab.

Then again, that's me...and every cab is a personal affair.

I have been going through a lot of websites that feature arcade marquees but i cant seem to find a mame logo with a shooter influence....I put a few ships in with the mame logo but somehow it just doesnt look right. Thanks for the links though good info on the forum there.

Just found these two. Not specifically shooter related, but there are some shooter themes in there.
