Ouch. The message translated by Twiddle wasn't pleasant to read.

Have to say that it's a bad loss, because he wasn't really a "mainstream" artist. His design was different from the usual, typical japanese antic. He resembled BROM in his works, and that's sometimes a needed relief when you want to create something original.

Rest in peace.
Alas, Ikaruga is going...

Undesired, unwanted them...
What makes them go?

Translates as a malignant tumor, from giving it a once over. Can't find a translation of the exact name, but reading from the kanji.

Basically, was going through surgeries for 3 years, and eventually succumbed. His last works will be Culdcept Saga on the 360, and Sorcorian Online, and MMORG (I will assume by Falcom for the PC).

It's actually the amikai machine translator -- it's quite useful as it puts the results below the kanji.

I'm pretty sure this would be even more upsetting, had I actually played Ketsui before. But this is still sad though.

I haven't played it either, but the art I've seen is very good. It's sad when anyone dies (except people who deserve death), but it's much sadder to see such a skilled artist pass away.

"Because of medical treatment, also when a right leg is cut, 'a leg is unnecessary to drawing business.'"

Makes sense, but that's really shows his love for his work!

Another "rest in peace" from me... :?

But even if he died at a young age. I guess he is still satisfied, that he could express himself through his artworks which will carry on his spirit even after his death. :)

Same here, but, for some reason, I've heard that it would come out on the PS3, and not the PS2-something Kiken wrote. Sad to see any gaming artist die. :(

Very sad news, his work on Ketsui is wonderful and one of the reasons I'm spending a ton of money on the PCB. RIP.

RIP to a young guy.

Didn't this guy just do the illustration on the front of the game? Did he also do the ingame renders as some of these posts imply; doesn't seem likely to me...
