As I mentioned earlier, I started cheering for them before the National Bar Examination. I'm not good at handling pressure and I get very nervous. I've experienced nausea before exams since I was in junior high. I believe that it was one of the reasons why I failed my first attempt at the university entrance exam. However, I was super healthy and calm before the National Bar Examination because of the idols. Cheering for them was a great stress reliever for me. My mom was really curious and asked me why I had been so genki 元気げんき (meaning healthy and energetic), and I confessed that I was cheering for idols and going to their live events and concerts."

"Her response was, 'Good for you! You look really healthy. If it was the ordinary you, you would be like a zombie around this time. This is really great!'

It's got nothing to do with being bothered about anything. It's a commentary on unproductive hangups with valueless capitalist fantasies.
the music/choreography is a major selling point of idol shit (if not THE selling point), no matter how much your "real woman" sucks your dick you aren't getting that out of her
Shit, you got me there. I'll never consider a blow job to be worth much again knowing I won't have a girl singing and dancing like a 6 year old on amphetamines to a shitty canned factory track while miming like a robot.
according to your logic we should also stop watching football and fuck a dude in the ass instead
Wow, you're a smart one. If that's what you managed to glean from the exchanges I feel comfortable knowing you'll do well in life.

Hopefully it won't get locked. Pretty interesting discussion.

Much better than talking about armpit water.

It's not this forum's fault that one of the biggest shmup companies has started to make Idol games and sell armpit water.
Save for a few exceptions, there aren't a lot of pew-pewing spaceships in shmup games lately.

You guys can be fun sometimes.

I don't get idol culture whatsoever, it strikes a very negative chord with me, it's too mechanical and inhuman, which is the opposite of what i would seek out in more childlike entertainment. so even though Skykid and NTSC-J are right in their own way from my point of view, they also paint an unfairly black and white version of reality, people can like anything for any reason, and a lot of the time people are totally conscious of why they like something and the relationship between that and everything besides it. I doubt that all Idol fans are just horribly out of touch with reality. It's possible to enjoy something without fitting into someone else's stereotype.

Anything could be a distraction anyway. Shooting games included.

For Idols I just say "I don't get this" and move on. If someone is obsessed with them, they could've just as well been obsessed with something else. isn't reality that beauty, the exterior, is very important, anyway?

It looks a bit off, as if he's headbanging to heavy metal. Could use some more smoothing out to fit with the movement of the whole body.

^^^cool thanks

I had one friend who thought the head movement made the animation in general look a bit more natural and organic, but another said it channelled hungry hungry hippos a bit. I thought I'd ask around a bit and get some second opinions. Anyone else have any thoughts?

I think the main reason why the "idol" (or just opposite sex relationship) issue gets this particular reaction is out of frustration with the absurd levels of herbivoric non-existant manliness these nerds exhibit.
My knee-jerk reaction is pure disdain and has been for a long time. What being human and maintaining social relationships is about has not changed much throughout the ages but there seems to be an all the more common attitude in modern civilized "safe" countries that we as a species have somehow evolved while the reality is indeed the opposite.

A man has to have the ability to be dangerous. You were biologically created as a hunter, warrior and protector. If you don't acknowledge this inherent part of your being you've succeeded with nothing more than self-foolery.

I'm the least dangerous man in the world.

So much so that I radiate an aura of pure mudanity that keeps everyone within a mile radius (relatively) safe by making sure nothing exciting ever happens.

I am very happy with this.

I have a teddy bear on my computer desk right now. Completely serious.

I don't get this kind of arrogance and irresponsibility. The world is filled with people and forces that want to force their will upon yours. Pretending otherwise is just fooling yourself. In a world with this rule set; isn't it a responsibility to yourself and those close to you to make yourself a person that can overcome that sort of adversity?

Oh, we're headed into retard territory. Of course.

there is no such thing as bad people, only people forced in bad situations making bad choices
surely we can solve all problems in the world by rabu and pisu ga and being nice to eachother right?????

I know man. It's just that I think this is kind of important.
It's easy to lose track of yourself in modern society and acknowledging your base nature is a pretty good way of gaining some solid ground.
Sorry if overkill.

This is an interesting discussion.
I don't believe in the Marxist narrative that people are purely shaped by respective circumstances but that there is some innate sense of morality in people.
Succumbing to peer pressure and/or social structures is a choice.
But it's always easier on the conscience to blame outside influence and claim irresponsibility, right?

It's cool, no hard feelings.

I do "acknowledge" my base nature, but at the same time, there are parts of myself aside from it, that are just as intrinsic to my nature and character, that I value no less.

The safety and happiness of my loved ones is my biggest concern, though.

This is a complex (and personal) subject though, which I don't have time for right now. I mostly just came here to say that women are nice and to troll people.
