Skykid, will you please drop all the "bewildering" and "dumbfounding". Yes, we know, you can't believe people have the opposite opinion as you. Get used to it, you are in an extreme minority. Mainly because this is generally a non-issue that no one really cares about. And those who do want to see pictures want it for their own morbid "gratification", as you say. Because they see evidence that OBL is guilty, whereas you see none.

I'm happy with that. I can't help it if I find something bewildering though.

I agree. It's pretty insulting language. And I resented on the other thread being accused of basically being a dumb blind American not for doubting that we were not being given the whole truth (which seems obvious), but for doubting that the most extreme possible case of deception was likely. FTR, I am someone who has been largely skeptical of the so-called war on terror from the late 90s on (before it was called that), was against both major wars, and continue to be skeptical even though "my guy" is in office.

BTW, Bin Laden hasn't popped back up as so many were predicting on that thread. I just thought I'd point that out before I ditch (no point arguing; it's a topic that's been done to death).

I heard that while he was supposedly dead, his World of Warcraft account was actually active and logged in on the Mists of Pandaren test servers. And that he recently posted a picture of himself on Google+, playing Batman: Arkham City on a PS3.
True story, straight from Fox News and CNN.
I hear he's a pretty sharp Counter-Strike: Source player as well. Mainly plays on the terrorist team, though.

I never predicted that, I said that that would never happen. I don't really remember anyone else predicting it either tbh.

If you've taken offence to my bewilderment that I'm in a minority, then I apologise. But never, ever did I say anything about being a 'blind and dumb American': you've just read into the argument on the defensive to have gleaned something that crass. I might disbelieve that anyone (of any nation) can go along with such harebrained stories, but it ain't a racial thing.

Don't make me bust my passport out and put you all to shame. That's my trump card.

Back OT:

As Antron mentioned, I'm in the minority, I do wonder how big that minority is, especially outside of US borders. I did find some interesting surveys/articles tho:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washing ... 584efa970c

http://articles.businessinsider.com/201 ... slim-world

http://ibnlive.in.com/news/not-everyone ... 073-2.html

http://worldblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/20 ... ived-there

Of course I can't stand by the legitimacy of any journalism (just like I wouldn't stand by Arkham City being a 10/10 game) so who knows.

There won't be any skepticism (or much) over pictures/video of a T-shirt. One of Elvis' teachers he wore from his first tour? A little different.

Elvis's karate teacher owned the empty lot next door to my grandfather's house. I used to cut the grass. He gave my cousins a T-shirt that was passed down through all the cousins. I don't know nothing about no tour.

The point of this thread is look at the difference in publicity between Gadaffi's death and OBL's. It's as plain as the nose on your face, especially considering OBL's Top Trump points for infamy and wantedness were about a billion times higher than Gdaff's.
US folks, this topic is certainly nothing personal, so please don't take it as such. I find it a little bewildering that so many good people turn a blind eye to glaring inconsistencies that should, by rights, raise any thinking mans eyebrow.

More so than any other political event that's come under scrutiny in the last eleven years - from 9/11 to weapons of mass destruction - I'm highly skeptical of OBL's supposed take down and probably always will be.

I'm sure for people affected by 9/11 in one way or another, this kind of open proof would have been gratifying.

I didn't turn a blind eye. As I already stated, I stopped caring for bin laden ages ago. I care more about how bin laden and his organisation were initially formed in Saudi Arabia and were then armed and trained by the CIA back in the 80s. I care more about how the US propagates state-run terrorism around the world. I'm more afraid of wall street bankers running amock with the US economy or BP oil spilling another whopping amount into our seas. With wall street bankers and companies such as bp running the show here in the US, who needs enemies such as bin laden? No radical muslim could ever do as much harm to US citizens as a wall street banker or a war mongerer in congress 8)
