I got Senko no Ronde on day one as well. Had it pre-ordered even. And convinced a co-worker to pre-order it.

Always glad to help out G.Rev. :D

Raiden 3 got a very limited release in the UK. Fingers crossed this gets a little more cash behind the release as I'd love the Raiden love to spread here,,,

The first pressing will be bundled with a special edition of the inh dvd. There are audio commentaries from the players and a new run for jet with a 200,410,760 score.
INH page
Of course those with the previous edition have the soundtracks, which are not bundled with the new one. Moreover the running time is shorter, 180 vs 225 min.

Ubisoft brought Senko no Ronde over to the US.

I reiterate:

UBISOFT BROUGHT SENKO NO RONDE OVER TO THE US!

And probably made a killing off of those of us who paid $60 for it.

Also see: Earth Defense Force

My point is this:
Its stupid to leave an Xbox360 exclusive in Japan, because the Japanese don't give a fuck about the Xbox360.
I am one of those who pay $60 for War Tech: Senko no Ronde…and it was worth every $ and ¢ ! It was far much cheaper than buying an Asian 360 -- oh I also had the Korean Senko no Ronde limited edition with post card set and sold it as soon as USA Senko no Ronde was release.

ON TOPIC:
Just as with Raiden III being released in USA, I have good feeling that Raiden Fighters will see release in the USA as the Raiden has always been strong in this country. The arcade cabs with shooting games still seen today across the USA are Raiden Fighters games. There is a dirt arcade in a dead mall right here in Livonia that has Raiden Fighters. Many speek of that hole in the wall where the one arcade game they can play is a Raiden Fighters game.

Yeah, mine was $60 as well, and definitely more than worth it.

This game COULD have done better.....

But it was marketed, apparantly, by drunken monkeys with hammers.

Heck, just look at the back of the box for the thing:

Anyone looking at it, who DOESNT already know WHAT it is (AKA, a versus *shmup* type game), well, they're still not gonna know what it is. Not a bullet-spray to be seen. They tried to just stick pretty mechs all over it, which isnt exactly the smartest move (can you say "generic"?).

And then people who bought it based on what it LOOKED like probably were annoyed to find it was something entirely different...

When I first heard of the game, coming to the 360, I had *no* idea what type of game it was. Admittedly, all of the interest I had at that point, I had because I saw some pics of Cuilan (shameless, yes, I know.....). Didnt have a dang clue what type of game it was.

I didnt find out what type of game it was until I saw it by chance playing at a convention I was at. Then I was like, "This is a fighting shmup game? MUST HAVE!!!!!!!". But if I hadnt specifically seen it running, I'd have never known about it.

Fah. I like Ubisoft normally, but that whole thing just ticked me off, and I tend to get a bit rambly on the subject.

Stupid quick question: no PC port in sight, right?

Yeah, I suppose we should be thankful for that . . .even though they all have issues and lack of proper emulation . . . :(

What issues and lacks are there? I've played all 3 quite a bit (though not extensively by any means), and didn't notice anything yet, thankfully.

I think the sound is a bit iffy on one of them. Certainly can't remember anything major.

Just going by my MAME32UI which denotes all 3 games as "Video/Sound Emulation isn't 100%" . . .

. . .whether it's 99% or 75% I don't know :?

Because Microsoft makes those kind of decisions instead of publishers and developers. That makes sense.

Yeah.

Yeah, the companies decide whether or not to region code their games. Or rather, the publishers do.

Great to see this compilation on the X360. I've played RF1 to death in the arcades...

Well I hope either it's gonna be region free or released in US/EUROPE on DVD not on "just" XBLA... but better on XBLA than no release.

If the release date outside japan gets delayed I'm def. gonna get the JPN Version (if its codefree)

True, my bad. Although MS, like Sony, has a formal approval process. Whether on XBLA or on disc, I do hope this makes it out in the US.

If they're going by sales of other traditional shooters on the 360, though, I don't think Senko sold that well-no offense to any fans of the game.

What do you think it will look on a RGB Trinitron CRT TV? I mean in Metal Slug 3 the pixels are filtered... will they use the original Pixels or the washed?

The xbox 360 only supports 640x480 minimum so is it possible to emulate it that it looks like the original?

Metal Slug 3's XBLA graphics are filtered and upscaled to hell.

Using 640 x 480 would be enough to emulate it so it looks like the original.

1280 / 320 = 4
720 / 240 = 3

You could do a 320 x 240 game at 720p if you don't mind a slight stretching on the aspect ratio.

I'm hoping RFA has the game playfield set to 640 high and 720 wide or something for the 720p yoko mode- since I won't be tate-ing my new 42" HD set.

RFJ in Mame doesn't really have any major issues, AFAIR. I wouldn't say there's zero chance of a US release when Raiden III made it here- just maybe a slim one. Three games for $60 is a good deal when it's the whole RF series.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

thanks gameoverDude for explanations. I would like to play the game in TATE on my old Sony Trinitron. (original arcade feeling)

yes thats the game PsikyoPshumpPshooterP

I think if its coming out in US/Europe as a download then it would costs minimum 2400 points... thats quite a lot for an XBLA Game. I don't know any other Title that cost that much. But there is a trailer available in the xbl videomarket so its obious thats it is coming here.

Wonder when the fact is out if the japanese version is region free or not.

I doubt it. It seems there's no region free japanese game. Maybe the asian version will be region free (if there is one).

Any further news on whether this will be region free? Play Asia just have big fat question mark next to PAL. I'm surprised at this. Surely people in Play Asia would know. Why can't the developer/publisher inform us? If this will be a Jap only release is there a workaround yet?

you won't know about the lock out till it hits japan.... prolly a little before if you scower the internet enough.

i have a NTSC-J 360, doubt I'll get this though now that I started on PCB buying, I have. I just need 1 and Jet. I have the cart for 1, so if I could find a Jet that matches my carts region that'd work also.

still this is almost tempting. i'll wait to hear from others on how the resolution is handled 1st.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?
