so i'm wondering if this will be playable on j360?

I know other Games on Demand aren't but this is an original JP title.

I already own it ...just curious.

i dont really know about it, but im gonna get it as soon as i get my console back from repairing... i might have to change the circuit board of my original Elite model.... but im kinda thinkin on gettin a Slim model... not enough money tho.

anyway... im gonna get this one as soon as possible, in hopes that they release DDP:R, Ketsui and Akai Katana over that very same service (or reatail disks) anytime soon for us, westerners...

Do you think this game is going to be over 6GB. The retail disc is about that size so wouldn't the GoD version be the same? Or are the files compressed when they're added to GoD?

It comes to 1.3GB when installed to the HDD. The GoD version will be about the same size.

Oh cool, thanks. I noticed a torrent for the game is 6GB so that's why I asked.

It's because most games use junk or filler data on the image to push the game content out to the edge of the disc, reducing load times.

In any case, I'll be up for a while today to see if MS will push the content out by midnight EST.

Am I right to assume they won't be tossing this up on the European GOD today?

Rising Star Games owns the rights to CAVE's game in PAL, they said a couple of weeks ago they will have major announcements published, the reason why this is even GoD in NTSC-U is because Aksys refuses to do any more CAVE games in the first place.

They do? I'd be surprised if they got rights for anything other than just DeathSmiles - they implied that they'd like to release more Cave shooters, but nothing was ever planned.

So I heard - I'm really hoping for some good news. Won't be until some time into June, though, as far as I recall.

Hey hey got a 1CC on my first play!
Rank 1 the whole way!

Oh...oh well.
I uh....used the regular 360 pad. That counts for something right? right? Somebody help me.......

I also haven't slept in 30 hours.
Also I think the L3 on the pad is going to break soon. I was totally handicapped on this run.
Plus I couldn't understand what was going on in the story. Being unable to understand the motivations behind my protagonist's actions made this a very confusing and thus extremely difficult run.

Rising star are too wrapped up in the harvest moon games and nintendo rpgs in general. Wish they would pay the 360 some respect

Blame it on Cave...imho it really wouldn't hurt them to at least have an announcement about what the plans for a PAL release are. I'm pretty sure RSG is not the only company interested in publishing Cave games now that Deathsmiles proved rather successful.
I would gladly pay €30 for Ketsui and/or Pink Sweets via GoD...you hear me Cave?!;-)

Actually alot more is at stake here then just CAVE on GoD, if this is successful this might lead to a import game section on XBLA which would be quite amazing. Why Microsoft has not up to this point tried this is beyond my understanding.

I didn't but then I picked all level 3's and did the extra stage. Oh, and Windia is suck apparantly unlike the first game.

Then got to the final boss on 1 credit with all level 3 and Ex with Follett.

It's a fun game though. Haven't tried Arcade yet. X-Mode is awesome. And I have no idea how Arrange works.

Well, putting untranslated JP content on what is basically a mainstream US game service is still a financial risk no matter how loud the import friendly hardcore fans are shouting on the interwebs
Seriously, I bet even if it comes with a big fat warning that the text is not translated there'll still be a couple of people who want their money back because the game is not in English. Not exactly fun to deal with this. We'll see how this works out in the end...

Welcome to Europe - we hope you enjoy being screwed repeatedly. Just stop with the regions already, PAL is dead, everything is 60hz and everyone wants it in English, even France.

I wonder if you can buy this with a points card and play it on a Euro 360?

Actually both PAL and NTSC are dead as both have been replaced with digital video systems, now the reason why we still got this PAL,NTSC-U region bullshit is because of twists for example how would you solve a twist like lets say

Ubisoft owns the rights to some game in PAL while EA owns the right to the game in NTSC-U and Square-Enix owns the right to it in Japan. For a huge global market to appear who would be the "true" owner of the game? Oh and not to mention they like charging more for markets with higher wages.

also sorry for thread derail

Does somebody know if the game itself is region-locked, that is, if it would be playable on an European 360? Even if the download is IP locked (does somebody know that as well?), it can be solved using a proxy server. If the game itself is not region-locked it could still be bought and played from Europe, using an US live account.

Thanks!

Hm, Canada seems to have updated but DeathSmiles IIX is nowhere in sight. Do you think it would work if I signed on the US site with my Canadian account, purchased the games on there, and add it to my download queue?

Edit: No that will not work. :/

Looks like you need an American account to access it. If I download it on my American account, will I still be able to play it w/ achievements and stuff on my Japanese account?
