I think the sound's missing and a handful of minor graphics don't display properly, but IIRC it's still plenty playable.

Last time I tried it was a lot more than "a handful of minor graphics". It's playable but it's ugly.

Yeah, all of the enemies are intact, but it seems like the background layers are missing or garbled.

Some sound is there for Batsugun via MAME, but the music isn't, if I remember correctly. A pity too, since the game has some excellent music. I finally got a hold of the Saturn port. I like it quite a bit so far. I like how it has an arranged soundtrack, though I prefer the original so far.

Only one problem though. Donpachi ain't manic. It's only a Cave game by name, come to think of it. It's like saying Michael Jackson is black. This is the problem of having a week devoted to an adjective that's not clearly defined. I'm sure there will be more problems once we see the 5 candidates too!

It's definitely not as manic as say, Batsugun.
I wouldn't hesitate to call it slow, either. It starts out like an old toa game, then really picks up as it goes on.
Trying to score makes it alot harder, too.

This is the problem of having a week devoted to an adjective that's not clearly defined.

Not to mention that some use it interchangably with danmaku and cause even more confusion!

Nope, it's full of glitches. However it's properly emulated in finalburn (just without sound).

I had read somewhere that the glitches on Batsugun emulation were solved, including the lack of sound.

Switch Batsugun to ... ooh.. I don't know... damn... change it to Street Fighter 3 Third Strike. This one is running on Mame without glitches.

I suggested Dangun Feveron for the shorlist, but the hell I am going to vote for it. Gigawing all the way.
