Noticed that sometimes you will get a pork gold without
using the lard attack. Needless to say if you miss it
your chain is toast.
And sometimes you get the pork gold but you can't
suck it in...
Anyone know what is going on ?

Yeah, I've noticed that at some enemy on the right side of the screen before the first boss and some other enemies as well. I think its just to make sure the player is paying attention. I won't have a problem sucking in the pork gold, but only if I get hit while there is pork gold on the screen, then try to suck it in when I respawn it won't work for me.rtw wrote:Noticed that sometimes you will get a pork gold without

Must have missed something in the recent Cave activity - are all MMP boards are special order from Cave?
Is the implication that they are running out as has been suggested or that Cave are taking this approach more now? I recall that happening with IBL too (IIRC?)... Someone said that you can still buy IBL; is this true and if so is this the current Cave strategy on lower popularity games???

That's because the base medal system is typical Raizing, where medals and Shot powerups are released for every set amount of aerial enemies destroyed using the Shot. Lard Attack just gives you a crapload more medals.rtw wrote:Noticed that sometimes you will get a pork gold without

How much is the kit going for,, by the way? Still 140k?

So presumably MMP kits will be available for a while -- Cave can just keep printing another!GaijinPunch wrote:Any of the Akiba shops will order an MMP kit for you...including Fujita, who also have IBL kits. The consensus on the print run is that it's somewhat small... closer to Pink Sweets rather than Ibara (unfortunately).
What happened to IBL's limited print run?
Maybe, but don't expect them to drop the price much, if at all. If it's special order only now, then they'll keep the price stable. It'll probably just be available for order until they run out of art/instruction sets. It seems Cave has caught on to the collectors and they now know the best way to turn a profit on the super-niche games like MMP.ill6 wrote: So presumably MMP kits will be available for a while -- Cave can just keep printing another!
It's still limited (the 100 only thing is a huge myth though, all indications are that there were at least 200 of these printed, probably more), but apparently they still have some kits left to sell. What happened to IBL's limited print run?
It doesn't have anything to do with destroying a certain amount of aerial enemies with the shot. Certain enemies just drop them. They drop in the same spots each time you play. Once you learn where they drop, it becomes much easier, as you anticipate them and can thus integrate them into your stage pattern. Just tap B then quickly switch to A to suck it in.Icarus wrote:

I noticed something weird the other day - if you die just as you're sucking in some medals, sometimes all the medals burst out from your ship and get sucked out of the screen super fast. It looks pretty cool, but of course it kills your chain and your score, so it's not something you want to happen. It's only happened like 2 times for me. The timing has to be perfect.
Is it exactly the same enemy?EOJ wrote:It doesn't have anything to do with destroying a certain amount of aerial enemies with the shot. Certain enemies just drop them. Haha, that's dirty. Makes me wish I was more interested in traditional Cave than Cazing.EOJ wrote:Maybe, but don't expect them to drop the price much, if at all. Yes, it appears so. To test, I have played through the the game using only the shot, and not touching the lard attack. The pork gold comes in the same sections of the levels every time, from the same enemies. So it does not matter if you use shot, lard, or whatever.Icarus wrote:

Truth be told, there does appear to be some randomness in some parts. For example, the second stage 5 midboss. Sometimes you destroy its bombs and one of them will pop out a pork gold, other times you don't get one.
Not that I doubt you but what is your source of info this?EOJ wrote:It's still limited (the 100 only thing is a huge myth though, all indications are that there were at least 200 of these printed, probably more), but apparently they still have some kits left to sell. What happened to IBL's limited print run?

-Some IB- Serials on the PCBs go over 200.
-Some PCBs have different serials entirely (My IBL's serial is CA-71801), showing they used some other boards and programmed them with IBL later.
Wonderful news: a MMP soundtrack has been announced, and it will come packed with a Superplay DVD! The DVD will have a 2-ALL clear with Rafute and other vids. Kick ass. Here's the link:
http://tencho.cave.shop-pro.jp/?eid=98658
Can't wait to order this.
The price/date and other details will be announced soon.
Also, a Guwange/Esprade soundtrack will be released.
PS- more people should buy this game. It's pretty much Yagawa's best game ever.

I'll be buying the Superplay DVD. I think I'll crack straight after buying it.
They have re-released a new print run of Pink Sweets at 100k (or some NOS kits?) They might do the same with MMP?
Pink Sweets at Fujita is NOS. Just a couple kits afaik.
If anyone wants a cheap MMP kit, buy this one for 93,000 yen (art/box are all brand new - PCB is used and b/w instructions are copied):

It's been up twice with no bids!![Shocked ](./images/smilies/icon_eek.gif)

Wrong: they state in the auction the dip sheet is copied, and not original. My MMP dip sheet is not copied. Actually none of mine are copied except Mushi, but ALL Mushi dip sheets are copied. Sorry to hear you got copied sheets, but this is not normal.Dave_K. wrote:The dip sheet is original, Cave has been making simple copies of it for the all their latest kits. My Pink Sweets and Espgaluda II kits came with the same copy looking b/w dip sheet.EOJ wrote:and b/w instructions are copied
Also, I don't know why you claim Cave is making copies for "all their latest kits", when, correct me if I'm wrong, you do not have any of their recent kits (Mushi Futari, MMP, Deathsmiles).
Sorry, I had bought new kits from Fujita and was unaware there is an underground market for dip sheets, so they must have switched them on me. Poor me.EOJ wrote:Wrong: they state in the auction the dip sheet is copied, and not original. My MMP dip sheet is not copied. Please post a pic of your glossy printed dip sheets.
They aren't glossy, they're matte. It's pretty easy to tell the difference between a photocopied dip sheet (Mushihimesama) and one that is not (any SH3 game besides Mushihimesama). Just put them next to each other. Different ink, different paper, different feel.Dave_K. wrote: Please post a pic of your glossy printed dip sheets.
Not sure why you equate glossy with authentic, but whatever floats your boat.
