Hey, I want on a team. I am currently deployed in Afghanistan but I have Gradius V and Gradius collections for PSP. I Have Raystorm and Crisis, R-type Delta. I also have Thunder Force V but I it wouldn't be fair for me to play against people in that game, seriously.....I also have Thunder Force VI.........JUST KIDDING!!!!!! I still only play shooters anymore if any game at all. I'm always ready to go against the best...and win. It's not fair I can't enter. I just got back from 2 weeks in the field. I never knew of this or this rule. It's not like I can just "up" and go to the nearest terminal and log on. We can't use DOD material to log on in the field. What Thunder Force Games are being played? Why don't Shmups do like us Capcom tourney people did and organize REAL people tourny meets, like this mass online tourney. Rent a ballroom for a weekend or something. I retired after 14 years of Capcom and video games but if the shmup scene was good like it looks like it is, I see NO reason why we can't have this done. I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE to watch shmups being played. The adrenaline is PURE. It's like entering a trance. When the music is blaring and the hair on you're arms is standing on edge and all you see is you're ship moving. You don't see patterns anymore, you operate on pure skill. It's the greatest feeling in the world. It definetly beats getting shot at for real. These enemies DON'T flash yellow before they die and in this game you HAVE to get a "No Miss" bonus.

They gave a full month to register. But let's say even if they let you in anyway, how would you have been able to get online and post a score every other week for games that wouldn't have been on your list of ownership? Can you hook us up with enough plane tickets and hotel stays to fly in 90+ people from all over the world for a real meet? I'd like to be in one too

Look if a meet like a mass turney is scheduled, then it's the indiviuals responisibility to provide transport and lodging not the host. I'm not ready to leave the Army yet, it's good money and I can kill people

If you can find a person to beat me at Thunder Force V-----I'll give out 500$ and that is my word............SERIOUSLY!!! This is my contribution to the tourny. If Thunder Force V is used I will Throw out 500$ of my own money if my requirements can be met and beat. What needs to happen is the founding and senior members need funding for rentals of ballrooms and such for a big meet to happen. The people of Shoryuken.com started out that way and now look at what it has become, if you know anything about them or the work they do. Shoryuken. com now sponsers 85% of MAJOR Capcom Tournies around the states and Japan. Anyone ever heard of The Evolution Tourny, It's the west coast championships and are humungous hosting about 7500 people each year with THE TOP players there every year, Jap and US. Justin Wong-Daigo-Alex Valle-John Choi-just to name a few, and it is not just Capcom but Namco and Sammy(Guilty Gear Series) have the games there. 13 games a year, check it out. This site could eventually get like that, I'll help with the contacts I've made playing in those tournies and believe me in 14 years I've made contacts.

I tried to find a system that is independent from the number of player's joining. That's why I went with this one:
Number of players joined will be divided in 5 tiers.
The tiers will consist of a certain percantage of players joined.
First Tier consists of the top 10%.
Second Tier of the next 15%.
Third Tier 20%.
Fourth Tier 25%.
Fifth Tier 30%
Between each Tier will be a 20 points span.
So Tier 1 has a span from 100-80 points. Now those 20 points will be divided by the number of players in this tier (in this week's case 10% of 71 = 7 players). So we have 20/7 =2,857... point difference between each position in this tier.
Offcourse those scores have to be rounded up or rounded off. This explains why on certain spots the span varies in the same tier. Which is the only weak spot of this system, in my opinion.
Otherwise it can handle about 150 or 30 joining players. Which was the most important factor for me, because we don't know how many players we will get on each week.

Ship and stage combination is only required for advanced scoring tactics. The crazy thing about Battle Garegga is that it doesn't even get difficult until the second half of the fourth stage, even with utter disregard to rank control yet some posters act like it killed their mother.

Yeah, survival is a larger part of their difficulty than scoring (so more intuitive to the average fan).
