Sure buddy, but it'll never be chosen cause a measly 95% of people here can't play the game. Nice try. This would be the 1337.Nemo wrote:I vote for ESPgaluda II for Cave week.

They gave a full month to register. But let's say even if they let you in anyway, how would you have been able to get online and post a score every other week for games that wouldn't have been on your list of ownership? It's not fair to everybody already entered if we keep unbalancing teams through new late entries. We had issues with this already. It's been settled.ThunderForce 222 wrote:Hey, I want on a team. I am currently deployed in Afghanistan but I have Gradius V and Gradius collections for PSP. I Have Raystorm and Crisis, R-type Delta. I also have Thunder Force V but I it wouldn't be fair for me to play against people in that game, seriously.....I also have Thunder Force VI.........JUST KIDDING!!!!!! I still only play shooters anymore if any game at all. I'm always ready to go against the best...and win. It's not fair I can't enter. I just got back from 2 weeks in the field. I never knew of this or this rule. It's not like I can just "up" and go to the nearest terminal and log on. We can't use DOD material to log on in the field. What Thunder Force Games are being played? Why don't Shmups do like us Capcom tourney people did and organize REAL people tourny meets, like this mass online tourney. Rent a ballroom for a weekend or something. I retired after 14 years of Capcom and video games but if the shmup scene was good like it looks like it is, I see NO reason why we can't have this done. I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE to watch shmups being played. The adrenaline is PURE. It's like entering a trance. When the music is blaring and the hair on you're arms is standing on edge and all you see is you're ship moving. You don't see patterns anymore, you operate on pure skill. It's the greatest feeling in the world. It definetly beats getting shot at for real. These enemies DON'T flash yellow before they die and in this game you HAVE to get a "No Miss" bonus.
I don'thave to beat NO ONE at Thunder Force V, they have to beat me, you have no clue what I did in this game do you?DJ Incompetent wrote:Start a new thread about this subject and we'll talk more about it. The tourney on this thread is already well underway. With 23 pages under its belt, it's not worth it to derail this thread over the possibilities of a whole different tourney.
As it stands, ya got 10 people ya gotta beat first. Go to it.
if everyone votes for dimahoo i'm going to be very sad because that's the game that makes me dizzy after stage 2 or 3Herr Schatten wrote:It's the week I'm looking forward to the least.Icarus wrote:Just out of curiousity Edge, have you got the games for Raizing Week shortlisted yet, and when are we likely to see the poll appear? Yeah, I agree with HerrHerr Schatten wrote:It's the week I'm looking forward to the least.Icarus wrote:Just out of curiousity Edge, have you got the games for Raizing Week shortlisted yet, and when are we likely to see the poll appear? It's the week I'm looking forward to most. ^_^
damn you namako team *shakes hand*Edge wrote:Here are the Team and single Player results for week #1: Here
Bring it on! namakoteam is very confident and will go into Raizing Week taking no prisoners. ^_-sven666 wrote:damn you namako team *shakes hand*
ill give you a run for yer money in raizing week!! (my fave too surprise surprise)
Good job on the rankings Edge, your hard work is appreciated. ^_^Edge wrote:About the single Player Ranking.
I tried to find a system that is independent from the number of player's joining. That's why I went with this one.
Raizing should not be overlooked.I agree. They are a bit complicated for a week of play (the ones that would get picked anyways). It's not too late to make another mixed developer week.
For significance as a developer they can't be denied. I'm just thinking of accessibility for beginners (since I would be one of them). Let's say Batrider is picked. Nice game, but poor beginners will spend a week finding the right ship combination. There's enough secrets and subtleties to fill up weeks of play.DEL wrote: Raizing should not be overlooked.
It would be like overlooking Psikyo.
Ship and stage combination is only required for advanced scoring tactics. Most players can get away with a single Batrider (for ease of clear), Garegga or Mahou ship (for respective secret bosses) as their main; no team selection necessary.Rob wrote:For significance as a developer they can't be denied. Protip: good for a lower tier finish! Most players can get away with a single Batrider (for ease of clear),
Good for practicing patterns and stages too. ^_-Rob wrote:Protip: good for a lower tier finish!
Not to mention the bullets.Rob wrote:Let's say Batrider is picked. Nice game, but poor beginners will spend a week finding the right ship combination.
In terms of scoring mechanics and such, yes, but I'd also argue that the faster bullets and larger hitboxes make even playing simply "for survival," with no regards to score, much more memory-based and time-consuming than most Raizing games. Newbies would have just as many hangups trying to figure out which way is up as they would playing a Raizing game, just in a different manner. On the other hand, Psikyo is just really simple.
I'm not sure what you mean. BS is really simple and as I've said I don't think rank is much of an issue, unless you want to get the last 5 million (or less) points in the game (I'll estimate).Icarus wrote: Or are you forgetting about Blazing Star and the difficulties at the higher rank levels? ^_-
Yeah, survival is a larger part of their difficulty than scoring (so more intuitive to the average fan). But Psikyo is one developer where replays/savestates could help accelerate through this, since it's often a "trick" of tapping in very small ways or neutralizing certain enemies.BulletMagnet wrote: In terms of scoring mechanics and such, yes, but I'd also argue that the faster bullets and larger hitboxes make even playing simply "for survival," with no regards to score, much more memory-based and time-consuming than most Raizing games.
