Official Muchi-Muchi Pork! [Cave 2007] thread
I don't know the most up to date records. At least 240mil in Regular, and something like 245mil in the Looped version. I'm not sure of the 2nd loop differences entirely. You can start out in the second loop by entering a code at the title screen and unlocking "Harahara mode". Harahara mode also has its own high scoreboard. I'll try it out and let you know when my kit comes next week (I just ordered the game).
More than I had hoped. But a pretty good price considering the current rate for this game (~$1400), and the fact that Cave is nearly sold out of them and you have to order one from them if you want one at this point.Icarus wrote:How much?EOJ wrote:I'll try it out and let you know when my kit comes next week (I just ordered the game).

Ah right, thanks.EOJ wrote:More than I had hoped. $1400 is still too high for me, so I'll keep on waiting. I have enough patience.
I think you'll enjoy MMPork! when you get it, the game looks really fun.

If it hits $950-1000 then I might consider springing for it. If not, then I'll sit tight and wait for a second-hand one to appear (PCB only, kit, whatever). Trying to lay off the extravagant impulse purchases.EOJ wrote:Yeah Fujita has them for 145K yen which is about $1270. That's a pretty good price! It may get closer to $1000 before it sells out, but I don't see this one getting below $1000 before it sells out.

Okay, I just got this game today and played a few credits. I entered the codes for Manpuku mode and Harahara mode as well.
So far this game is awesome. I love it. Once you get into the groove, rocking the pork gold, it's super fun. Of course, I am notorious for radically shifting my view on games once I play them a good deal, so I'll reserve final judgement for much later.
For those who wondered, Manpuku mode is indeed just like Pink Sweets' Harder mode. All the enemies emit suicide bullets when you kill them, and they sorta come in from the sides of the screen.
In Harahara mode, it feels a lot like a second loop! The bullets are a bit faster and there are some more of them (but not extremely so). Large enemies emit suicide bullets, but they're more in the style of Ketsui than PS's harder mode. The bullets on the tail of the fireballs that come out of the first stage midboss look pretty damn cool, they sorta sweep out and come down fast like a pattern out of Mushi's 4th stage of Ultra mode. I only got to the second stage boss (about 16mil for my score), so can't comment on much else right now. Anyway, it's cool to have a chance to practice the 2nd loop whenever you want. Seems like Cave is helping people practice the loop by putting this mode in, since there will never be a port.
I should also mention the startup screen is fast. It goes right to the "copyright disclaimer" page when you turn on the board, like Ketsui! It sits there for awhile loading up stuff, but it's noticably faster than any other SH3 game.

This game is pissing me off. Does anyone know if there's a way you can suck in the 10K medals when you respawn after a death? In other words, you die just as you trigger a bunch of 10K medals, then come back to life as they're falling. I've tried pressing B, pressing A, pressing B then A. Nothing works and my chain gets slashed down to 1K. So ridiculously annoying.
In the normal flow of the game, if the medals fall while you are not holding the B button (lard attack), you have to press B then A quickly to suck them in. But again, this doesn't seem to work after a respawn.

Yeah it's really called the lard attack. I've tried all the possible button holding combos, so it may just not be possible. If you can fire off the Lard attack right after you respawn, and hit an enemy triggering a 10K medal, then the rest of the falling ones DO get sucked in when you press A (shot). But there doesn't seem to be a way to suck them in unless you do that. ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Since stock is getting low I splashed out on this kit.... ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
Got it yesterday and managed to play 3 coins before real
life pulled me back.
It's fun and beautiful, got to the 2'nd boss on first run. Love
the rush you get when you collect the pork gold.
But I'm a little bit confused regarding the play technique.
A - Shot
B - Lard attack
C - Bomb
What do the small and large p symbols do ?
What do I fill up when I pick up pigs from the ground ?
Which of these items fill up the lard attack ?
What does the 1 UP mean, It's not as if I get a new ship ?

Congrats, and enjoy. It is a beautiful, super fun game.rtw wrote:Since stock is getting low I splashed out on this kit....
Small P icons power up your shot, and large ones power it up a full level. I think there are three levels to fill up then you're at max. P icons are worth 5000 each once you are at full power. What do the small and large p symbols do ?
Those fill up your lard meter, which you use with the B button. When your lard meter is filled it will say "press the B button!" on the screen, and each pig you pick up after will be worth 1000 points until you use your lard meter or die. What do I fill up when I pick up pigs from the ground ?
Any pigs (pigs on the ground or the parachuting pigs in the sky).Which of these items fill up the lard attack ?
I think you mean the "Pork Up". It means you have charged your shot up one more level. Extra lives are at every 10mil and there is one in the stage 3 midboss if you destroy its cannon. What does the 1 UP mean, It's not as if I get a new ship ?
Just so you know, the larger meter on the bottom of the screen is the lard meter. The small meter above it next to your bomb stock is the bomb meter. Pick up the "B" items on the ground to fill up the bomb meter, which gives you a full bomb when it maxes out (you can have up to 3 in stock at any time).
Any time you use the bomb all the enemy fire in the way turns into parachuting pigs, which fill up your lard meter very quickly.
Thank you EOJ, to tell the truth you were my motivatorEOJ wrote:

Since these kits have to be specially ordered just now time
was running out.
Thanks for all the tips, I will put them to good use!
One more question though, how do I build up the value of the
pork gold ? I know I suck them in with A.
Fantastic feeling when you suck in the gold and the game grinds
to a halt

Same as with Ibara or Pink sweets - the gold increases from 100 - 1000 in 100 increments and then from 1000- 10,000 in 1000 increments. Every time you trigger a medal when there are no medals on the screen, the value goes up one increment from the last time you spawned a medal.rtw wrote:[

In the beginning of the game you want to get to the 10K level as fast as possible, so try and only kill one or two enemies with the lard attack at a time, suck in the pork gold, get a few more pigs to fill up your lard meter when it empties, then do it over and over again. Once you get to 10K, you want to have longer periods of lard attack use to get a higher score.
New high score I found on this page:
http://www.alpha-st.co.jp/index2.html
248,399,520 by a guy named PPP-ERS-T.B. He doesn't mention his ship type, but I'd assume it's Ikuo. Score was done just a few days ago, on Oct 26th. I don't think that's the current WR with Ikuo, but it's the highest I've been able to find on the web so far.
WR with Rafute is 192mil as far as I can tell. Arcadia is keeping different records for each character, just like with Pink Sweets.
