It's most definitely recorded. He usually does.

That said, it won't change anything for us.

West (US ver): DEL - 5.644.000 - ALL (on Galloping Ghost Arcade game center I see a better score in table: 6,174,100 Bryan Schillo)
Can anyone confirm this was on default settings?

If anyone has any more games they want added, please post them.

I'm going to start adding records for all ship types, so there are bound to be a lot of missing or incorrect forum scores. Don't hesitate to point out any errors.

I'm also going to change the "West" scores to "Forum", as in scores from this forum, even though a few scores are from MARP or other places. I've noticed a number of people getting a bit prickly when it comes to "Western records". To me, the intention in listing those records is just so we know what the top scores are in our community to give players a "local" score they can interact with (in other words, they know the player who set it so they can ask them questions or simply want to beat their score out of spite, I dunno), plus they're more achievable scores than world records and are a nice benchmark.

If anyone has any objections (you don't like "Forum", you think "West" is fine, or if you have another idea), please speak up now.
yes, default settings:

Regarding this:
Dodonpachi

A Type
World: SOF-WTN - 754,937,640 - ALL - A-L - 949 hit (first death at 224.3 million)
Is that "first death at 224.3 million" actually be the score at the end of the first loop? I find it difficult to imagine getting the WR with a death at that score, since that would kill the maximum bonus, but that sounds about right for a first loop score.

Also, thanks for all the work on ship/character-specific scores. Always interesting to compare the differences (or lack thereof) between categories. I already heard about DOJWL, but the Ian and Quaid scores for Dragon Blaze are also absurdly close.

You're right, it should be 224m for the first loop. I was using Gemant's score listings and misread the 1L as "life" instead of "loop".

I'm once again swamped with work, but I should be done with the Psikyo listings soon, so Raizing is up next.

Big news! Arcadia has just launched the Japan High Score Association which will be the new database for arcade high scores.

Sorry, I meant in this thread. Eaglet had been wondering when they'd go up.

The JHA site doesn't look like it'll have scores listed until the end of next month.

pretty sure mrmonkeyman has a higher score in ketsui omote than I do

also, why not split SDOJ into no hibachi/hibachi/inbachi? listing local scores as hibachi when they didn't even unlock her seems kinda weird

It does seem a bit funny, but I try to stick to the Gamest/Arcadia listings where possible and they don't have non-TLB SDOJ scores so I thought we could use Hibachi scores as the "default" route. Also, the SDOJ records are already bloated at 18 and adding more listings for a game that is already pretty unpopular seems unnecessary to me.

But of course if more people want non-TLB scores I can add them.

For Gun frontier, when did DBS take his standing score?
In 2006 his score was: 2.363.630

Source: http://stormoid.com/gamest/g.html

It would be very interesting to see the newest score run as that score is insane for GF. (This game has so many secrets)

Haha, nice. I would love to contact certain people, like HKR (turbo force, sw2, other old games) and 説教MLK (many games, Shippu Mahou Daisakusen, etc) but I don't think they use twitter at all. I searched quite a while on japanese websites but I couldn't find out how to contact them.

A few remarks:

- Is my Darius II score for the PS2 not permitted? I'm pretty sure it's an arcade-perfect port. :)

- Macias has a slightly higher score than trap15 in Rapid Hero.

- Does anyone happen to know the WRs for Acrobat Mission, Aero Blasters/Air Buster, BlaZeon and Strike Gunner S.T.G? I'd gladly contribute my community scores for the latter three. :)
