Pretty sure it's supposed to be a reference to the Dreamcast boot-up tones (pitch adjusted and/or played in reverse).

This is the first PAL GOD exclusive game I've wanted.
Feels like a cheap trick calling it a PAL game when only PEGI-rated countries can play it. Anyway, aside from that there's also the issue of the IP-locking, and it's at this point I don't really have the time or patience to jump hoops through stupid locking systems to get an English version of a game I already own.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I already own it but if it was as easy as it is to get XBLA games then I would have double dipped but I can't be bothered with VPNs or anything.

Bit weird how this is almost buried on the UK store. Checked the just released page for GOD and couldn't see a thing. Only turns up when actually searching for it? Anyways, nice to have - used to love Trizeal on DC, been that long since I played it that I can't see what's supposed to be remixed about this version though? Not to sure about Exzeal at the moment, feels a bit gimmicky, though I've not spent a lot of time with it. The skills test is superb fun, looking forward to getting a bud down to try this out. Not touched a shmup in maybe half a year or so now, so finding Trizeal ideal for easing me back in. Wonder if there's any chance of the other comp?

I admit I kind of ignored Skills Test compared to the other two games when I bought ye olde physical copy of this. I'll go back to it soon, especially considering all the love for it on here.

How do the secrets in Exzeal stage 3 work. I notice there's a blue block at the first set and occasionally there's one in the second set of blocks as well. There's also a robot related secret that has something to do with the blocks but I've only noticed that one once. Is it possible to get both of these in the same go or should I just go for the blue block one?

How do you get the secret in Stage 2 to show up? I have the achievement for it, but I don't know how to get it to actually show up, and I'm sure it's worth some points.

Also, where's the secret in Stage 5?

My current best on 1cc is up to stage 5, but if I eliminate deaths in early stages, I should be able to make it to stage 6. Stage 6 is very hard though, but I can practice it as I did clear the stage with credit feeding.

The Naomi/DC version of Trizeal had crippling unintentional slowdown in 2P co-op when both players were firing, enough to render it unplayable. Remix fixes that. (Unsure if it was already fixed on PS2.) There's a number of other less prominent things, like the more dangerous spread from the turrets at the spot where the golem tosses the rock in Stage 2.

I'm impressed by how well the XIIStag ship adapts to both Trizeal and ExZeal. Of course, that's assuming you're twerking out with the auto side attack button all the time and not wrecking your stick by using it manually. Wouldn't use it myself otherwise.

Was replay desyncing an issue on the Japanese release of this? I've tried checking top score attack scores and full run scores for Exzeal only to find that the replays will game over way before getting the score. At least the stage 6 Score Attack one from the leaderboard I checked worked, though don't know if that means it'll always work when I want to watch it for strats while practicing it or if it'll randomly desync.

I've only checked Exzeal, so I'm not sure if it's an issue with Trizeal Remix replays also.

Not sure if this was always an issue or if they somehow broke something while localizing it.

I have Gessen Love + Pengo.

Is this worth getting, in spite of that?

At $20, definitely. It has the original tate version of Skill Test, which is essentially identical, but it's very distinct in content otherwise.

I've had replays desync on the Japanese version (particularly with Exzeal).

Shooting Love 10th also has issues with replay desync. I suppose Fujino hasn't quite ironed that out... Disappointing.

I haven't watched too many replays, but I've had mine desync, but usually it will work fine the next time. Always at the section with the rotating spheres in stage 1 with the red weak points.

Stage 2's dragon mecha thing is achieved by staying at the bottom of the screen for the first two large ships (so don't score chase them in the type 3 ships).

In Stage 3, you get bonuses for shooting the blue blocks all the way through the field of blocks. 100,000 I think. It also destroys all remaining destructible blocks.

I think the robot is randomised, I've only triggered it once but I usually focus on the blue block bonuses. But I'm sure if you spot the block he's on, you just have to shoot it.

You don't. Have to play through everything to get one shot at figuring out that part that's killing you.

Only have 1 achievement left on this, the one for not playing for a week. So I'll just need to play on an alt account (I'll use the one I made to get the DFK DLC and plan to use for MMP 1.00 attempts) until I think Thursday of next week(will probably go through Friday just to be safe if it checks time too. Maybe I could use it for XII Stag ship attempts too since the leaderboard doesn't have seperate ship ones like Exzeal does, though I don't think I'd actually score higher than my standard ship run.

Dang, that's frustrating! Does anyone know if the DC or PS2 versions of Trizeal have stage select?

The DC version has a score attack mode where you can play any stage you've cleared so far. No idea why it couldn't have made it into the xbox release, given that the other Zeals got it. Though it's a bit pricey to get just for a score attack mode!

If it was made available to places without ESRB/PEGI ratings I imagine they would. No sign of this on the Australia marketplace and I've heard Russia and some parts of Europe can't access it either.

Sorry for the same dumb question, it has been mentioned on page one, but its not clear to me. Is this downloadable and playable on a Japanese console with a Canadian Xbox Live account?

In Stage 3, you get bonuses for shooting the blue blocks all the way through the field of blocks. 100,000 I think. It also destroys all remaining destructible blocks.

I think the robot is randomised, I've only triggered it once but I usually focus on the blue block bonuses. But I'm sure if you spot the block he's on, you just have to shoot it.
I was streaming Exzeal some today and got some extra tips / secrets from enigmachaos (same as ChaosPhoenixma??) but a couple things discluded are:

1. There's a *different* robot sitting in the middle of a platform that will salute you, I think on Stage 3, and will give 100K bonus if you shoot all the enemies on the left, then pass through the right side with the rotating flamethrowers. He also mentioned having to pause the game for this to work, (i hadn't tried it yet myself.)

2. Speaking of pausing the game for a score trick, there's a midboss robot mech guy that you fight, I forgot which stage but if you mash pause or pause at a certain point before he activates, it will spawn a free bomb. There's another case of this he mentioned. Really strange secret.

3. Also, at one point during the asteroid stage, there's a ship that flies in the background, I think if you hover over it for a bit you get a 100K bonus??

4. There's a secret ship in Exzeal, "3e" if you select Unit 3 when the count-down timer is at "13" or "3" it will give you a yellow ship, shot only, that is more powerful up close but can only have one shot on screen at a time. It also yields a higher multiplier than regular Unit 3.

There are other secrets unmentioned still, too.
