Can someone start a petition or lead the way for someone to start a petition for a DC release.Diabollokus wrote:Thanks D
What are the chances of a DC release provided thats running on naomi.
Looks good so far, glad its not a manic anyway.
Or at the very least start a new thread for/about a petition.
If not it may never even see a home release on any console.
(trying to worry everyone and force someone into starting a petition; letting someone else do the dirty work)
Look man, I allready mirrored the video (if you can call that mirroring)

Just buy Senkou no Ronde and let G.Rev know there's still money to be made on the DC. Border Down obviously did.

To add to what JP said, G-Rev's first two arcade games were ported to the DC. They seem very positive about a DC port of Senko No Ronde. No doubt if Senko No Ronde sells as well as Border Down did, we'll most likely see a port of Under Defeat as well.D wrote:Can someone start a petition or lead the way for someone to start a petition for a DC release.Diabollokus wrote:Thanks D

Which brings up another question... Do you think the DC release of Senko No Ronde will have both a regular and LE release like Border Down did?

I like what I see though I still think the helicopter itself is too big.
As far as limited edition Sendo, with a predominantly female cast I'd expect two variant covers and a soundtrack ala Border Down. *-neo
Hopefully Under Defeat doesn't require more RAM than DC has, the shots seem pretty detailed and a few companies have mentioned RAM in their excuses to forego a Naomi to DC conversion (Melty Blood for example).Kiken wrote:

I'm with Kron on this one G.Rev are simply amazing....
Do u know they wrote the engine for Ikaruga?!?! I only learnt that last week, and it just compells me to love G.Rev even more.
Btw the only way really to get a DC port of this is to buy Senko No Ronde when it hits the DC. Which should be on everyones pre order list anyway since it looks simply amazing...
Btw the only thing that this game resembles ZG2 with is that its got a Heli copter in it, so i'm not sure why people continue to make ZG2 references.

Once more the light shines brightly in sector 2814.

I'm surprised by that seeing as I thought the craptacular Border Down sold quite well (I was conned into buying the Sega Direct LE even. DA HORRA!!!) and that they made a decent amount of money off of it. Oh well, SnR looks like a waste anyway but too bad about Under Defeat as it might have had potential further down the road.kid aphex wrote:G.Rev just commented that a DC port of SnR [let alone Under Defeat] wouldn't be profitable for them, and in turn, wouldn't make much sense.
As much as it pains me [not for SnR, but for Under Defeat ... SnR is a bit too fruity] I don't think we'll be seeing anything else from G.Rev on the DC.
Guess I can just go back to playing ZG2 now, what with Under Defeat being the same game and all

I don't really see how it can't be profitable for them. It'll cost next to nothing to do the port as well as secure the lisencing from Sega for the release. And even then, a couple of thousand copies sold and they're turning a profit (yet alone another possible sell out like Border Down). G-Rev are now a seriously recognized company within the shmup world... they aren't another Triangle Service.kid aphex wrote:G.Rev just commented that a DC port of SnR [let alone Under Defeat] wouldn't be profitable for them, and in turn, wouldn't make much sense.

Having said that, I would certainly not be against seeing a PS2 port of SnR... I would just prefer to play the game on the closest console to its original hardware.
[quote=]It'll cost next to nothing to do the port[/quote]
hmmm, I don't know about that.
It'll be cheaper than for let's say the Playstation 3.
But you have to understand that for us it's all fun. But in the real world it's all about business. They can waist time making a DC port, but that'll never turn them in millionaires.
With more effort and more costs they can make more money when releasing it for the PS2 & PSP(TATE-MODE).
I would suggest to them. Make a PS2 port & if they have a little time and resources left do the DC port as well, it will after all probably be profitable to make a DC game that's based on NAOMI. And it will look cool when a game is released across more platforms. And releasing it for the Dreamcast will guarantee future support from us DC-heads. when they make games for other platforms. We'll be like oh yeah those guys made 'the last' Dreamcast game.
Does anyone ever think that shmup companies monitor these forums:
Translate it's content?
So what's the status of the petition.
That's what petitions are all about. A game will not get released. What can you do?
Start a petition!

Indeed. No offense and to each their own, but I have noticed little things can often get blown waaay outta proportion on the 'net.D wrote:I was thinking the exact same thing.Dylan1CC wrote:And why are people complaining about the length of the explosion? Nobody said that about Iky.
Oh well, I guess times change.

Well fuck them too.
Border Down sold more copies than any of the other post-Ikaruga shmups did, so I don't see how thats "not profitable". Hell, one would think selling 5,000 super expensive Limited Edition copies alone would make them tons o' money. Not to mention 3,000 regular edition copies.
Guess I should just be thankful for Border Down... *sigh*

Here's a babblefish translation from their website:
"You do not understand about some person it is desired, but by your desire the transplantation to DC " of dance of optical rotation ". After all, it cannot win the charm of VGA output.
When by the way, the NAOMI -> you correct in the PS2, you correct in DC when with, it probably means that either one is painful job?
Coming out with DC, when you can receive, being certainly to be delightful, it does, but if it seems that comes off from the profit line with that, overstraining, you think there are no either times when it sells with DC. Is positioing, hard it dies already and. Hard in just shooting continues to live, we would like to try seeing with you think, but W
It is above. Job please persevere. Also under defeat has enjoyed.

The letter thank you!

It is case of question, but " also the ど っ ち is painful ", is correct answer, so it does.
If you refer to comparison, the PS2 recreates and being to be natural, it does, that it is large in the point where you call degree but because... also the transplantation to DC, has become the making which utilizes the advantage of the NAOMI in the maximum in regard to " optical rotation ", transplantation of high level is actualized, when recreating and devising the good scale become necessary, must be.
The fact that after all it becomes the wall is " profit ". Simply, it sets aside hard and being not to be the meaning which abandons the transplantation to home, if... it can wait patiently, with."
I have no clue what that means... but whatever. I thought some "very reliable" person from here said SnR was coming to DC this summer? Ugh.

I guess it's just scale. The PS2 has an active install base of close to 100 million users (and growing... I'm estimating, on June 2, 2005 the PS2 had sold more than 90 million units worldwide). The DC? I have no idea... but based on how many I see selling for $5 (or less) at yard sales, I'm guess the active install base is pretty small (and continually shrinking). So they might sell 5k dreamcast copies to stalwarts like us (and SnR isn't even a traditional shooter... it's more of a... well... something that probably won't appeal to shooter fans and doesn't appeal to me) or they can try to sell 30k or 50k copies on the PS2 with a much wider install base. I'm not privy to their analysis on this, but only they have all the numbers to determine what is likely profitable and what is not. I heard it takes a competent engineer 1-2 months to port a Naomi game to the Dreamcast. Plus advertising costs... and they probably sell the game for $10 profit to distributers after production run costs.... I'm just not sure it's all that profitable on the Dreamcast. The scale of the PS2 nearly guarantees that the'll be able to sell many more copies - then it becomes a trade-off on how much effort and cost it will take to port it. If they ran the numbers and they worked out that the PS2 gives them a far better chance for profit, then who are we to argue. We can ask them nicely and maybe they will do it to support the dying Dreamcast fan-base, but they also need to maximize profits.jp wrote:Well fuck them too.kid aphex wrote:I don't think we'll be seeing anything else from G.Rev on the DC.

You do realize that, probably over half of that number, consists of people only wanting to play Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Gran Turismo, and/or Grand Theft Auto yes?
The only reason G.Rev ONLY sold 8,000 (wait, didn't Border Down have a SECOND pressing? So maybe its more like 10,000-11,000, but obviously they sold more than they anticipated) copies of Border Down was because, well, that was all they made.
I don't know if you've noticed, but Border Down is no longer for sale at play-asia, ncsx, etc.
Yes. The PS2 has 19 bajillion users (well, I know at least 5 of those were from 3 people buying second/third consoles after theirs conked out), but I don't see how that matters when a company can only make 10,000 or less copies of a game.
G.Rev is a small team. 1-2 months for a DC port probably beats the hell out of 5 months+ for a PS2 port. Its a quick cash cow that allows them to move on to making more games, which is something I'm really starting to wish more people would want to do, as opposed to "We can't make good games anymore, lets port all our old stuff!"

Sorry, I'm in a ranty mood today. Truxton pissed me off this morning.
