Those are definitely Westernized definitions of terms used without regard for the actual meaning of the word "jihad," like Fedayeen or Hajii or any number of other words.

Same thing for evangelicals: Christians who want to "take over the world" may tend to be evangelical, but not all evangelicals want to.

Of course, everybody from both religions wants you join their religion, it'd be insulting if they stopped caring about our souls ;) Not to mention failing in the eyes of their religion.

I understand that both of you have missed the point of what I tried to say.

Christian Religon is free, I does not cost you a penny and you can leave whenever you whant.

church of Scientology destroys peoples life. It ruins peoples economy and you can not leave. Because they will torment and harass you if you do.

Yes, understanding Church of Scientology is hard. Even I had difficult grasping it. That and that they work with the consent of the law of the USA to destroy peoples life.

EDIT:

Everybody visiting this topic should read what I wrote down here, and then examine the links I provided.
HAL 9000 wrote:Never_Scurred,
Like most members around here have told you, Scientology is a scam. It is a pyramid scheme or pyramid game, designed to lure people inside it and make them spend all their money.

As the Church of Scientology is built up on an pyramid scheme, they must prevent people from reading the books that they are supposed to buy, and the Church of Scientology do it by violating the freedom of the press.

They,
1.
Ensure that their books are Copyrighted.
2.
They sue people that are "doing harm on the Copyright."

All with the consent of the USA.

It looks okay. Does it?

well it is not:
-They are using the copyright on their books so that the masses do not know what they are singing up to.-

Today,
Church of Scientology is waging an all time war against Internet and people that are revealing secrets about them or posting their books or part of them on the web.

Church of Scientology is an threat of global scale. They lure you in, and when you try to leave they harass you.

scary thing is battlefield earth is actually a really good book, and so is his mission earth series....in fact pretty much anything sci fi stuff LRH wrote was/is great

and ya scientology is pretty fucked up.....he should have stuck to fiction....his alcohol/chemical abuse wasnt as badly suited to that

and there are lots of filmed interviews of LRH.....dont know where you got that info

and before you ask...yes i was involved when i was younger....my parents were scientologists until i was like 14.....i saw through the bullshit tho.....and my parents did too eventually

honestly tho....if you have a church of scientology/'org' in your town you should go down sometime and talk to them.....its quite funny.....

you can pretty much say whatever you want and they will smile and talk more.....one of the first things they teach you there is the straight man act.....like they literally coach you....people tickling you and yelling/telling jokes in your face....pretty much everything up to violence...until nothing can make you register any emotion....

pretty much the only thing that stuck with me from back then.....i have been told i dont show emotion at all very often......my g/f bugs me cuz i dont smile.....i just stare back

its pretty fucked.....it is definitely very cult-like and they are manipulating weak minded people out of there money....

About the Org thing...
We have an scientology church in our city. Scary thing is from the outside, there is this big ass metal door and above that is a freemason symbol. I swear to god I won't step foot in that building.
Lately, she has been acting a bit funny, not completely nuts, but she's been really digging into this dianetics shit. She told me about a course she's signed up for thats meets three times a week. She's planning on working overtime to pay for some of the books. I've been pretty hesitant in bringing up the cult shit cause 1) I don't wanna piss her off, and 2) she's a sweet chick otherwise and we've been together for awhile. I'm just gonna ride it out until the shit starts getting too weird, then i'll break up with her.

In my experience you can't help anybody and they'll hate your guts if you make an effort to try.

You can lead a horse to water, but once you get there all you can do is drown the motherfucker.

Seriously, just make sure she can't get her vampiric fangs into your riches. Soon she will be more vampire than lady.

If your girlfriend is planning to work overtime to earn money to give to a cult (as opposed to, say, buy a new car), then that is nuts, and it's the point where you run as fast as you can.

PS.
So you are afraid to even talk to her and for instance show her that article in the Times? Doesn't sound like a relationship worth saving in the first place.

Nail, meet hammer.

What happens if you tell her? Worst outcome: she gets pissed off and decides to break up with you. Well, if your other option is to ride it out until she goes full-on Tom Cruise, aren't you just postponing the inevitable?

You don't have to use the word "cult". Tell her you think they're trying to scam her and show her some of the shit that got posted. Maybe she'll be pissed, maybe she won't, maybe she'll come around, maybe she won't...but just staying quiet (implying that you're okay with it) then going "fuck this SO LONG YOU CRAZY BITCH" however long later is both cowardly and a dick move.

If there's a problem, face that shit instead of burying it and letting it fester because 99% of the time, it'll come back up later 10x worse.

Their texts are actualy amusing to read too unlike other religious texts which are usualy pretty boring. For example, this is a part of one of their secret texts which I got from 'Inside Scientology' ( a book written by a guy who got sucked in ):
As we are now well aware, the thetan had assistance in its fall into degradation. After it let itself become soft, corrupt beings finished it off by loading it with incidents and facsimiles of an electrical nature or otherwise. Such forcible affixations on the Time Track going as far back as trillions of years are called implants. Some of this material was laid in at implant stations by invader forces from an ancient intergalactic confederacy based on the planet Helotrobus, who were bent on creating hypnotized slaves and colonists. Thetans were occluded with the goal To Forget. Most of these implants have now been dated in research working with an E-meter. The implants, by the way, are quite varied:

Helotrobus Implants 38.2 trillion years ago to 52 trillion years ago.
Aircraft Door Implant 216 trillion years ago to 315 trillion years ago.
The Gorilla Goals 319 trillion years ago to 83 trillion years ago.
The Bear Goals 83 trillion trillion trillion trillion years ago to about 40.7 trillion trillion trillion trillion years ago.
The Glade Implants
(formerly called Black Thetan) 40.7 trillion trillion trillion trillion years ago to 5.9 trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion years ago.
The Invisible Picture Goals 5.9 trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion to a date not fully determined.
The Minion Implants Not yet determined.
The Story of Creation Implants 70 trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion trillion years ago.

The Aircraft Goal was given in the mocked up fuselage of an aircraft with the thetan fixed before an aircraft door. The Gorilla Goals were given in an amusement park with a single tunnel, a roller coaster, and a ferris wheel.... The symbol of a gorilla was always present in the place the goal was given. Sometimes a large gorilla, black, was seen elsewhere than in the park. A mechanical or live gorilla was always seen in the park. This activity was conducted by the Hoipolloi, a group of operators in meat body societies. They were typical carnival people. They let out concessions for these Implant "Amusement Parks." A pink-striped white shirt with sleeve garters was the uniform of the Hoipolloi. Such a figure often rode on the roller coaster cars. Monkeys were also used on the cars. Elephants sometimes formed part of the equipment. The Hoipolloi or Gorilla Goals were laid in with fantastic motion. Blasts of raw electricity and explosions were both used to lay the Items in. The Black Thetan Goals were given in a glade surrounded by the stone heads of "black thetans" who spat white energy at the trapped thetan. The trapped thetan was motionless.

I would say that Hubbart was a genius. An evil one that is.

The book is designed to stray away from the common "holy books". It makes it more motivated to buy.

Never_Scurred,
No disrespect on my part for your girlfriend or you, but you should consider what Specineff wrote. I do not know you or your girlfriend, but she could be hired by the Church to "for the purpose to make them join that organization".

I would not say that it is unlike the methods used by the Church.

Jockel,
Did you read the whole post?

I said that he was a genius because he knew extremely well how to control the mind of peoples. He applied that to a "religon", and now, about 50 years later, it is still alive and kicking.

By the way: He is dead since the 80's. Thank god, and hope he burn in hell.

Sums it up prety well. The guy was pretty smart, I think any decent author is. The proble is there's no shortage of evidence that he wanted to start a 'religion' because it was a much easier way to make tons of money than just writing science fiction. The whole thing is planned as a scam.
