I don't think devs care about DC, but in my opinion all Naomi games should be converted to DC.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

It has nothing to do with the developers. The publishers are the ones who control the ported home console releases.

Developers have little control over these sorts of things at the best of times.

Hm? I thought Sega was the publisher for most of the post-mortem DC games?

Only one that I know for sure they've published is Puyo Puyo Fever.
Publisher's generally have their company logo somewhat visible, if nto plastered on the front and/or back. You can find Seag's logo nowhere on any of the Milestone or G.Rev games.

translated:
The third shoot' EM up of Milestone Karous (Karasu) is in this moment in hiring test in Sega Club of Shinjuku. Not really of surprise, the play resembles “Radilgy obviously much” left it y' has a few months on Naomi, then on Dreamcast, Playstation 2 and Gamecube.
Graphically one finds the same “concealment shading” used in Radilgy, same explosions, and obviously the same system of play with however a darker graphic topic, very black and white, what seems to give a rather special atmosphere to the play.
Karous will turn on Naomi gdrom.

I really like the title screen with the black feathers behind the title and the white feathers falling all around. Very "Cave-ish", don't you think?

Not much to look at, but looks a bit too close to Radirgy for my tastes.

Seems they are going all-out with the whole black and white theme.

Also seems to call points EXP and have a leveling up system.

I really like the style of this game. it looks exceptionally good for a game. though I must say that it has me confused on how it works because of how fast it moves.

Pretty much identical to Radirgy. Build up the barrier weapon and then plow into enemy bullets and enemies themselves to collect bonus items.

One thing I'd like to add... given that new, lengthier replay, it really looks like the game is pretty much complete. I suppose the final GD-ROM will become available to arcades around the end of next month/beginning of October. Which, if given the port turn-around time of Radirgy, could mean an announcement in December and a home version by February.

Even if they do forgo a DC release in favour of Wii, I can't see the port taking that long as there'd be no reason to alter the graphics since they're in a specific style. Unless they try to come up with some ridiculous control-format to take advantage of the WiiMote.

I want to hump your leg

edit: this looks awesome and i see they have removed extends

I don't know how scoring works though

edit 2: Upon further investigation, it looks like score is flatly multiplied by the total of all of your weapon power levels added up. Simple. Not sure if I'd like this better than Radirgy's.

Just watched the video. It looks excellent. I'm officially excited about this game.

The world needs more "Takumi meets Compile"-gameplay.

I did. Overall, the gameplay has apparently been simplified (compared to Radirgy). No sword, no ground enemies/bonuses... I hope it won't be boring :-( Radirgy was great!

If you look at the first video posted (the 6 second one) on YouTube you'll notice that the sword is in fact present.

Just keep in mind that this is a Loke Test version... Extends could have either been disabled, or MileStone hadn't decided on appropriate score values to grant them at.

Despite the simplified scoring mechanic, it looks like the scores in Karous will be several magnitudes higher than those in Radirgy (by stage 3 the player had already amassed over 157 million).

The push seems to be focused more around intense bullet patterns (very Cave-y).

Other quick things I noticed... there's a huge sub-boss in stage 3 that escapes after taking significant damage. The enemies and bosses appear to feature more texture maps than the ones in Radirgy (despite the continued use of cel-shading, the textures look more detailed).

When this game comes to home consoles, prepare for a fierce highscore battle, Kiken.

Anyone noticed the little antenna on the first boss? I have a sneaking suspicion I know what happens when you slash it away...

That's kind of an odd holdover from the previous game.

You know what the game needs to make it completely knockoff worthy? A white field and a black field. Or a Karous Field.

Eh, who am I kidding. If it comes out for a console I own, I'll probably end up buying it.

Wow, nice video! The colors look much brighter in this game, and it seems that you have 3 gauges to fill up instead of just one, though I don't know what they're all for.

The final version is due out sometime in November, according to NCSX:
http://www.ncsx.com/2006/090406/ncs0904h.htm

So if they plan on doing a homeport, we won't see it until 2007.

nice to see that Milestone is "improving"...

im liking this, they are now developing their own identity based on the games...

:P

plus, i like the art/design/promo of Karasu, feels very refined...
