I wouldn't be so sure. Play-Asia hasn't included the OSTs in the Box contents for example.
Neither did nin nin games, yet the cds will be included.

Also, the cd soundtracks aren't actually *inside* the box. ;)

Total cost from Tenso for this box delivered to the States was $340. I was expecting more like $320. Sucker must be HUGE.

I don't think it is huge but more heavier than expected. I mean its a sized big DVD box with at least 12 discs packed in.
Really how lucky are the most of you for purchasing it. I think I'll pass on this one and wait till the real full colection is out, including new ports such as Dangun and Ibara kuro FTW!!!!

Just got off the phone with ncsx, they didn't realize the soundtracks were shipped separately and hadn't arrived yet. Dude was checking emails about it and trying to figure out wtf was going on, he'll be emailing all the costumers who ordered it to let them know of the situation. It should get shipped by the end of the week.

[edit] I appreciate the offer Rancor, I'm happy to pay a little extra for the service and convenience of ncsx.

Haha, I just got off the phone with them for a separate issue, and thought to ask about that for you. I was just going to post that same info in case you didn't get it yet.

I'm assuming the Futari and ESPG2 guide books are enlarged versions of what would have been in the dvd cases?

I dont think so. Ive seen these books before and i believe they're filled with tons of art and a basic strategy section.

I've seen these before, but the Collection ones are different. Maybe the ones in the collection come with the OSTs?

Also, congrats hvx! You are set for a while :P

Here's the NCSX email. Surprised they aren't asking for us to payfor that shipping...yet. Kydos to them if so.

------------------
Dear NCS Customer,

When we received the Cave Shooting Collection last week, we assumed that the soundtrack bonus was included inside the game bundle but our suppliers alerted us that the bonus is a separate item that they are shipping to us this coming week.

We will be shipping the soundtrack box to customers separately when they arrive and you will receive an email notification when the item ships. It is unclear why they didn't ship the soundtracks together with the game bundle to save on time and cost but they may have made the same assumption that we did with the soundtracks being inside the game box. Thanks for your attention.

Regards,

Ok I played a bit of Mushihimesama and it's so good! It's gonna take me years to mine the depths of these games. Good job.

When I spoke to them earlier, they said shipping would not be extra.

Well I had a feeling I was going to get screwed ordering from Eurotaku for the first time. Arrived today, no soundtracks. I did only pre-order 5 days before it came out but still... kinda BS if you ask me.

Anyone got an extra they are trying to sell? :(

Try contacting them first. Maybe they also thought the discs were in the main box.

@hvx's Pic
Now that's a "CAVE" Shooting Collection, well, until DDP SDOJ comes in, lol.

Kinda weird about the soundtrack problem, they thought it was in the box, and no, they though it was an AF joke, which isn't.

No, those came with the superplay discs, and are the same size as the original releases:

Does the DLC disc work with the original retail games, not just the ones in the box set?

Soft Otaku wrote:Hey everyone! I had to make a new account because I couldn't find my old info. Sorry! I've been reading the forum for a long time, but I shall endeavor to post more from now on. ANYWAY, I have posted a video on You Tube (SoftOtaku is the channel name) answering many of the questions about this. It's beautiful! I just got it and unboxed it and tried to show everything. There is info in the video description about region stuff, but for those who don't want to go there, I will put it here as well:

Bad, but not unexpected news:
*The Install Disc (or Expansion Contents Disc) is region-locked.
*DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu Black Label didn't work on my USA console, but Mushihime-sama Futari did, so it seems the region-locking on these discs is the same as the regular versions.
*The Guwange download voucher is region-specific.
*The DVDs are all Region 2.
*DoDonPachi DaiOuJou and Ketsui are not included.

Good News
*The Install Disc appears to be reusable. The contents are on the disc, and you can choose what you want to put on the console.
*The games (besides Guwange) are all on dedicated discs, just like the regular versions. No need to download anything if you just want to play what is on the disc.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who has contributed to this site. I have benefited from it greatly in building my shoot'em up collection. And I hope it's OK that I posted this here!
I know the dvds say they are region 2, but they play fine in any dvd player I have tried them in. They even work in my ps3. Can anyone else confirm this?

Maybe Cave labeled them but forgot to actually implement the region code. :)

Unless they took the time to rebuild new dlc packages, they should work.

I got the package earlier today and took the time to install the dlc. So the disc is just using the standard MS dlc installer. Same thing that Oblivion and Fallout 3 GOTY were using. So that's a good news.

One thing that bugs me though. After installing them, I noticed that it didn't include every single piece of dlc that Cave has. I think some Deathsmiles, Mushi and Muchi Pork/Pink were not installed by the dlc disc. I say this because I have dlc for those games first print on my hdd and when I installed from the disc, they were not present after the install (I installed to USB to compare). Is it cause those first print dlc got bundled on the game disc itself ? I'm sick today and I didn't feel like playing anything today, so I didn't bother to boot the games to confirm.

It would be great if these DVDs are region free. Although I do have two region 2 players standing by.

The unboxing video posted earlier shows all.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... 7h0#t=316s

I emailed Eurotaku about not receiving the soundtracks and this was the reply:

David,

As we suspected, there was NO “bonus” SOUND TRACK included with ANY of the CAVE Shooting Collection.
Not only yours, but for everyone.

If that “NCSX” site says is doing it, most probably isn’t true!

Those sound tracks exist, but it’s a special privilege gift for Cave premium members who could order from their web shop in Japan.
… only a few CD’s were delivered (I heard, less than 20), but unfortunately none among us (resellers, wholesalers, distributors) could get it.

Best regards,

Nuno
