Did far better than expected since I haven't played this game in ages. I think muting the soundtrack helped. Disappointed I didn't get the farthest; congratulations to chum to tanking it to the 5th boss. Thank goodness for that hidden extend on stage 4.

EDIT: I just gave autofire a try and it absolutely breaks this game.

Yeah Autofire breaks it, but I said in the initial rules of the tournament that autofire is fair game, so anyone can use it if they want to. Seemed to me like you actually do more damage using the normal shot, so it's probly best to have both an auto-fire and a non-autofire button 1. If Darius Gaiden autofire is legit, so is this

All done in blind run, autofire used and hell that made it look easy, disabled it while reach stage 4 and it becomes different story.

Love the game setting though, seems like Data East's answer to Parodius.
