Yeah, don't get my hopes up like that again, man! Almost had a heart attack.

It's a beautiful run, though. That first loop is so clean and optimized. It's a bit of a shame he played it so safe in the second loop and missed so many scoring opportunities. There's huge room for improvement. I worry that his willingness to let it be uploaded now has to do with him retiring or something.

^Yup, the first loop is excellent, especially considering the 1 Life pressure. Lots of room for improvement on the 2nd loop for sure, a 48mil difference between his Harahara loop and mine. However, it has to be said that it must be really difficult to complete the Arcade 1.0 Harahara loop on just 5 or 6 lives, not to mention the poor scoring potential from the lack of lives.
I have a feeling that an arcade 1.0 Rafute 2-ALL would be able to compete with his 308mil.

Just saw iconoclast retweet this:

I think it's a new Type B record?

It is and by a fair amount, too. The previous record was 704m.

SOF-WTN mentioned on his twitter that he's retiring from DDP and returning to Raiden Fighters 2. Kind of a bummer, I was hoping he'd keep going.

I'm a bit surprised, I was under the impression people don't generally like high level scoring in RF2 because it's basically all grazing.

Yeah but trying to increase the technical grazing throughout the bullet-hell on all of the stages is no mean feat.

Yeah, I'm not saying it's easy, I'm saying it's tedious and unfun  Which is why I'm surprised he'd bail on DDP for it.

I saw iconoclast tweet about that, so unbelievably close to the overall record too, only about 300k off! Practically anything could have pushed the score just a bit higher, I wonder how SPS feels about that.

I've improved the west score for Sonic Wings Limited. I have to quit this game now because I don't know what kind of tricks are used to even get close to the WR. Also there wasn't a score thread to post this in. If anyone ever gets interested in this game you should PM me; let's try to figure it out!

At the least, it's higher than you've already got listed.

Is there anywhere where I can find records for Mushihimesama 1.5? I've heard that some of the modes are counterstoppable but I don't know which ones.

The highest known scores are probably the ones on top of the 360 leaderboards (which doesn't counter stop, IIRC). Other than that, you'd have to poke around twitter or superplayer blogs to see if you can find anything.

It doesn't seem like anyone really bothered with the game, probably thanks to the super low counterstops. The best scores in the 360 board are nowhere near the progression the top players got in the arcade version.

I guess it's no surprise since it's pretty much impossible to find good replays of the original version too and that game is way more common. Mushi is just too weird.

I think at least two of the three MAX modes are, but I can't remember which ones. The one or two cabs at HEY in Akiba have counterstop scores, so if anyone is in the area they can confirm.

You can get the counterstop (in at least one of the modes) by stage 3, so no surprise that it isn't more popular.

Thanks guys. I'd be very surprised if either Original or Original Max counterstops since they're much lower scoring than Maniac and Ultra, so if two are counterstoppable they're probably Maniac (Max?) and Ultra (Max?). Original Max is the one I'm most interested in but there's barely any videos of it I can find on YouTube, even compared to the other 1.5 modes. The highest I've seen is 144m but it's nowhere near the full scoring potential of the mode (Sapz posted a 336m score in the forum thread that only reached stage 4).

I saw a counterstop in Ultra Mode there ; can't speak for the two other modes though.

Found my old photos. Looks like it's standard Maniac and Ultra MAX:

lmao stage 3 counterstops, that's great. Thanks for the pictures. I wonder if Maniac Max can also be counterstopped.

I imagine it can, as there's really no additional scoring potential in Ultra. I would assume between higher firepower and extra options it should be easier - actually, I assumed those were the reasons the countertop became a problem, so I'm a little surprised to see it was non-max Maniac.

wait what how

Did someone discover an infinite pattern? I can't imagine how else you could get the score that high especially since the max hits isn't even as high as what I've seen SOF-WTN get.
